WAWANOSH - Huron County
Ontario Provincial Police
(OPP) officers are investi-
gating the recent theft of a
Polaris snowmobile that was
stolen from a farm located
on Blyth Road near Sharpes
Creek Line.
The snowmobile was sto-
len sometime between Jan-
uary 4, 2015 and January
7, 2015. Those responsible
attended the property and
forced entry into the locked
shed through a man door.
Once inside the shed they
located the snowmobile and
were able to drive away on
the machine.
The stolen snowmobile is
described as a black, 2010
Polaris 550. The estimated
value of the machine is
approximately $6,000.

ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-
WAWANOSH — A 27 year
old driver from Haldimand
County was served with a
three day driver's licence
suspension recently after
he was stopped driving in
inclement weather on Kings-
bridge Line. On January 5,
2015 a Huron County Ontario
Provincial Police (OPP) officer
stopped a Volkswagen Pas-
sat that was travelling south-
bound on Kingsbridge Line
toward the closed roadway
at Bluewater Veteran's High-
way.
Upon speaking with the
driver police noted the driver
had been drinking alcohol. A
roadside test was completed
and the driver registered a
warn range reading. As a
result the 27 year old driver
from Haldimand County was
served with a three day driv-
er's licence suspension.
CENTRAL HURON - A 19
year old driver will be with-
out a driver's licence this
week following a traffic stop
on January 11, 2015. At
approximately 4:25 a.m. a
Huron County Ontario Pro-
vincial Police (OPP) officer
observed the driver of a Pon-
tiac Grand Prix fail to stop for
a red light at the intersection
of Huron Street and Victoria

Officers were able to stop
the Grand Prix to speak with
the driver. Upon speak-
ing with the male driver the
officer noted the driver had
been consuming alcohol. A
roadside test was completed
and the driver registered a
warn range reading. This
was the driver's second warn
range suspension and as a
result the suspension was
increased to a mandatory
seven day suspension from
three days.
The 19 year old driver from
Central Huron was served
with a seven day driver's
licence suspension and was
ticketed with Red Light — Fail
to Stop.
CENTRAL HURON - A 56
year old driver from Cen-
tral Huron is facing a court
date for Impaired Driving
and Drive Motor Vehicle with
Over 80 Milligrams of Alco-
hol charges after he was
stopped by police during the
early morning hours of Janu-
ary 10, 2015.
Shortly after 1:00 a.m. Huron
County Ontario Provincial
Police (OPP) officers received
a call about a possible
impaired driver that had just
left a restaurant in Goder-
ich. Officers began patrol-
ling for the suspect vehi-
cle and within a few min-
utes they were able to locate
and stop the suspect vehicle,
a Ford Taurus as the driver
was pulling into a trailer park
south of Goderich.
Upon speaking with the
driver the investigating
officer noted that the driver
had been drinking alcohol
and was displaying signs
that he was impaired by
alcohol. He was arrested
for Impaired Driving and was
subsequently transported to
the Huron OPP Detachment
for breath tests. He later
provided two samples of his
breath to a qualified Intox-
ilizer Technician and both
samples registered over the
legal limit.
As a result, a 56 year old
male from Central Huron has
been charged with Impaired
Driving and Drive Motor
Vehicle — Over 80 Milligrams
of Alcohol. He has a court
appearance scheduled for
the Ontario Court of Justice —
Goderich on March 16, 2015.
He also received an auto-
matic 90 day driver's licence
suspension and his motor
vehicle was impounded for
seven days.
