MPP Thompson recognizes 2014 Huron -Bruce outstanding citizens

Year's Levee at Teeswater
Town Hall to announce the
recipients of the 2014
Huron -Bruce Outstanding
Citizen Award.
Marking the end of 2014
and beginning of a new
year, MPP Thompson used
the evening to recognize
citizens who have distin-
guished themselves as
community leaders and
made considerable contri-
butions to Huron and
Bruce counties over the last
year.
"It was a great pleasure to
host tonight's event.
Huron -Bruce is a better
place because of the efforts
of these individuals, and it
is important to recognize
the work that they do every
day", said Thompson.

Huron OPP respond to
fatal farming accident
ADeceased

Just before 3:30 p.m.
Huron County Ontario
Provincial Police (OPP)
officers along with Huron
County EMS paramedics
and North Huron Fire
Department personnel
responded to a beef cat-
tle farming operation
located on Jamestown
Road south of Bluevale
after receiving a 9-1-1
call for assistance.
Emergency crews
arrived on scene and
located an unresponsive
male victim. First aid
was provided to the vic-
tim however the male
was pronounced
deceased at the scene.
The preliminary inves-
tigation has revealed the
victim/owner of the farm
property was performing
maintenance on a skid
steer when the bucket
suddenly moved and
pinned the male between
the bucket and frame of
the machine.
The deceased has been
identified as 41 year old
David Johnston from
Morris-Turnberry.
A post-mortem exami-
nation was scheduled to
be completed last week.
