CENTRAL HURON — Huron County Ontario Pro-
vincial Police (OPP) officers are currently inves-
tigating a break, enter and theft that occurred
at a home that is being built on Porter's Hill
Line. Sometime between 5:30 p.m. on Decem-
ber 28, 2014 and 5:00 p.m. on Decem-
ber 30, 2014 those responsible forced entry
into the home under construction through
a man -door attached to the garage.
Once inside, those responsible stole various con-
struction tools including power tools, hand tools,
table saws, mitre saws and electrical sup-
plies. Some of the specific stolen items include:
Paslode framing nailers
Dewalt air compressor
Several Dewalt 20 volt drills
Several Makita 18 volt hand tools
Stiletto Hammer
12/2 NMD90 Electrical Wire
14/2 NMD90 Electrical Wire
14/3 NMD90 Electrical Wire
The value of the stolen property is in excess of
$25,000. In addition, nearly $3,000 in dam-
age was caused to the building when the thieves
cut the supply wires to the electrical panel.

GODERICH — Huron County Ontario Provincial
Police (OPP) has charged a 22 year old Goder-
ich resident following a traffic stop on Decem-
ber 27, 2014. At approximately 9:40 p.m. the
driver of a Toyota Echo entered a R.I.D.E (Reduce
Impaired Driving Everywhere) checkpoint located
at Gloucester Terrace and North Street. Upon
speaking with the driver officers detected the
odour of marihuana coming from inside the vehi-
cle. Subsequent investigation revealed the driver
was in possession of marihuana. A search of the
driver and vehicle was completed and a quantity
of marihuana was located. The driver was later
released from the scene on an appearance notice.
A 22 year old male from Goderich has been
charged with Possession of a Schedule II Sub-
stance — Cannabis Marihuana. He has a sched-
uled court appearance on February 2, 2015
at the Ontario Court of Justice — Goderich.
SOUTH HURON - A 27 year old driver from
Mitchell is facing a court date for Rac-
ing and Drive Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Mil-
ligrams of Alcohol charges stemming from
a traffic stop on December 28, 2014.
At 6:18 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provin-
cial Police (OPP) officer spotted a two -door Mer-
cury travelling northbound on London Road
near Huron Park Road at a high rate of speed.
The officer confirmed his observations with
a RADAR device and measured the vehicle's
speed at 132 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.
The speedy driver was stopped and upon speak-
ing with the driver the officer noted the driver
had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screen-
ing test was completed and the driver regis-
tered a fail. He was arrested and subsequently
transported to the Exeter OPP detachment for
breath tests. He provided two samples of his
breath to a qualified lntoxilizer Technician and
both samples registered over the legal limit.
As a result, a 27 year old male from Mitch-
ell has been charged with Drive Motor Vehi-
cle — Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Rac-
ing. He has a court appearance scheduled for
the Ontario Court of Justice — Exeter on Janu-
ary 29, 2015. He also received an automatic
90 day driver's licence suspension and his
motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
CENTRAL HURON —A 22 year old driver from
Central Huron is facing a charge of Drive Motor
with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol after he was
stopped for speeding on Sunday, December
28, 2014. At approximately 9:28 a.m. a Huron
County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer
observed a Pontiac Vibe speeding along at 110
km/h on Huron Road west of Sanctuary Line.
The driver of the Vibe was stopped and upon
speaking with the male driver the officer detected
alcohol on the driver's breath. A roadside screen-
ing test was completed and the driver regis-
tered a fail. He was arrested and subsequently
transported to the Huron OPP detachment for
breath tests. He provided two samples of his
breath to a qualified lntoxilizer Technician and
both samples registered over the legal limit.
As a result, a 22 year old male from Central Huron
has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle — Over
80 Milligrams of Alcohol and Speeding 100 km/h
in a posted 80 km/h zone. He has a court appear-
ance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice —
Goderich on February 9, 2015. He also received an
automatic 90 day driver's licence suspension and
his motor vehicle was suspended for seven days.
