As a member of the Huron Chef League, McIntyre was serving appetizers on December 14 at Libro Community Hall in Clinton. One of the appetizers featured Angus beef, of which, in Mclntyre's opinion, the best in the world is produced locally in Huron County. Executive Chef Martin Novotny is accompanied by his wife, sales manager Marianne Novotna to serve canapes created special for the celebration at the Libro Community Hall on December 14. This is an arti- san coffee roastery in Bay- field. They create specialty coffees from green bean from various regions around the world and offer tea blends for infusions. Benmiller Inn and Spa was represented by execu- tive chef Martin Novotny and his sales manager wife Marianne Novotna. The canapes they were serving were created special for the event. Marianne explains that they are quite willing to customize menus to fit an event or celebration. Guests at the inn may request changes to accom- modate specialty dietary requirements and advanced notice of severe allergies is appreciated. Reservations are recom- mended. Owner/operator Caitlin Vail was accompa- nied by her husband chef Spencer Vail at their table. They offered organic pork and chicken boulette, which is essentially a meatball, with sun choke puree prepared from Jerusalem artichokes. Caitlin's handmade butter croissants were created with apples from Bayfield Berry Farm and cheddar cheese from Pine River Cheese.
