Radars crush the Thunder 13-3
0 n Friday, December 5
the Clinton Radars
behind the high -scoring trio of
Kurtis Bartliff, Tyler Doig and
Luke Vick crushed the Tillson-
burg Thunder 13-3. The high -
scoring line accumulated 16
points with Bartliff scoring 4
goals and 2 assists, Doig getting
5 assists and Vick chipping in
with 3 goals and 2 assists.
The other high -scoring line of
Ryan Murphy, Sean Consitt and
Mitch Vadergunst were making
it difficult for Thunder defend-
ers, too. Consitt had 2 goals and
1 assist Murphy had 2 helpers
and Vandergunst had 1 goal.
Others getting their names on
the score sheet were Deryk
Whitehead with 3 assists, Kyle
Provily with a goal and an assist,
Jordan Currie with 2 helpers,
Sean Reid with 1 goal and 1
assist, Mike Jarmuth with 1 goal
and Taylor Gosset rounding out
the score sheet with 1 assist.
Goalie Marc Nother had one
of the easiest games of the year
even though 3 goals got by him.
Tillsonburg scored all of its
goals in the third period as Clin-
ton seemed to play sloppy in the
period at times. The Radars built
up leads of 4-0 after the opening
session, increased their lead to
Joey's Corner
Joe Livermore
7-0 after two, and outscored Till-
sonburg 6 to 3 in the third.
The Radars were penalized 18
minutes and the Thunder had 10
minutes of penalties. The Radars
scored 3 powerplay goals in the
contest.
Clinton's next game is Saturday
night when they host Petrolia
Squires.
Radars Streak Continues
On Saturday night, December
5, the Clinton Radars' winning
streak continues with a con-
vincing 10-1 drubbing of the
Petrolia Squires.
It was a wild affair as there
was a continuous parade to the
penalty box. The referee whis-
tled the Squires for 33 minutes
and the Radars for 27 minutes.
Once again the Radars showed
no mercy as they scored 10 or
more goals for the second time
this weekend in as many nights.
For the second straight game
home -towner Kurtis Bartliff led
the onslaught as he scored 4 goals
for the second straight game.
Along with 2 assists and a 6 -point
game, Kurtis totaled 12 scoring
points in 2 games on the week-
end.
eekend. He now leads the Southern
Division of the Senior A Hockey
League with 48 points on 24 goals
and 24 assists.
Hard-working Shayne
McClure picked up 2 goals and
one assist in the loosely played
game in front of an enthusiastic
home crowd. Single markers
were picked up by Luke Vick,
Reid Oliver, Deryk Whitehead
and Stefan Salituro.
Defencemen Kyle Provily and
Tyler Bryson played a strong
defensive game as they
thwarted the Squire shooters
time and time again. The lone
Squire goal was a short-handed
goal as Dan Veenema spoiled
Marc Nother's bid for a shutout.
The Radars never trailed in
the contest as they led 2-0 after
1, 5-1 after 2 and they salted the
game away with a 5 goal out-
burst in the third period.
The next home game is this
Friday night, December 11, as
they host the Milverton 4 -Wheel
Drives.
