OPP BRIEFS
Police respond to
dispute — Arrest made
for dangerous driving
Bluewater - On August 16
just before 5 a.m. OPP officers
responded to a Hensall residence
in relation to a complaint of a pos-
sible domestic dispute. Witnesses
reported a male driver appeared
intoxicated and was now ram-
ming his minivan into a camper
trailer parked on a residential prop-
erty. The man's wife was inside
the camper but was not injured.
Within a few minutes offic-
ers arrived on scene and located
the intoxicated male seated in
the driver's seat of the mini-
van. Police arrested the male for
Dangerous Driving and Impaired
Care & Control. The driver was
transported to the Exeter OPP
Detachment where he pro-
vided two samples of his breath
to a qualified Intoxilizer Tech-
nician. Both samples regis-
tered above the legal limit.
As a result, police have charged
a 28 -year-old male from Bluewa-
ter with Dangerous Operation of
a Motor Vehicle, Impaired Driv-
ing and Drive Motor Vehicle Over
80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He has
been released from custody with
a court appearance scheduled.
He also received an automatic 90
day driver's licence suspension.
Break and enter —
Jewellery stolen
Morris-Turnberry - OPP officers
are investigating a break, enter and
theft occurrence that took place on
the afternoon of August 19 south of
Belmore. Sometime between 12:45
p.m. and 2:45 p.m. the thief entered
into the unoccupied home on Bel -
more Line through the unlocked
garage door. Once inside the resi-
dence the thief proceeded to steal
the victim's expensive jewellery.
The stolen items are
described as follows:
Diamond Solitaire ear-
rings and necklace
Diamond engagement ring
Men's diamond wedding band
One men's gold chain and
three women's gold chains
Silver necklace and tree charm
White gold necklace with
a sapphire charm
In total, the value of the stolen jew-
ellery is approximately $7,000.
Yamaha Viking
ATV stolen
Bluewater - OPP officers are inves-
tigating the recent theft of a Yamaha
Viking ATV stolen from a seasonal resi-
dence located on Sararas Road south-
west of Zurich. The theft occurred some-
time between August 10 and 9 a.m. on
August 16. Those responsible cut the
lock at the gate to the cottage prop-
erty and once on the property they
forced entry into a sea container. Inside
the sea container they located the ATV
with the ignition key in the machine.
The stolen ATV is described as a
multi -coloured, 2014 Yamaha Viking
four-wheel drive ATV. The machine
has designed seating for three
occupants. The machine is val-
ued at approximately $16,000.

ing these incidents should immedi-
