"going home with the inten- tion of returning with his fam- ily in the spring." Glenn's funeral was held at Ball and Atkinson's funeral rooms in Clinton. It is not known exactly what caused the Wexford to founder. Did she roll beam over end in a giant tidal wave as one Lake Captain specu- lated at the inquest? Did her cargo hatches give way flooding her holds and stop- ping the engines causing her to drift powerless until she was swamped by danger- ously high waves? Did her replaced hull plates begin to leak again? Or, as Carroll suggests, did tons of ice build up on her super struc- ture make her top heavy and unmanageable? Nothing can be stated with certainty. As the extent of the trag- edy washed up on Lake Huron's shores, the New Era did not exaggerate when it claimed that "Goderich is stirred as never before in its history. The town that provides so many sailors for the Great Lakes is a house of mourning." 33 Main St., Seaforth 519.600.1577 Direct 519.272.5413 THE SIGN THAT SAYS SOLD AMY McCLURE Sales Rep. 519-525-3988 KYLA COOK Broker 519-520-9557 MAUREEN WILDFONG Sales Rep. 519-525-9954 1L =1 r, S: 0- a PILiaS Vfsil www.S II ingseaforth.com To 11 ;ew AP Clur Usti n s 1 GREAT STARTER HOME THE SIGN THAT SAYS SOLD THE SIGN THAT SAYS SOLD THE SIGN THAT SAYS SOLD h - . 51 acre retreat located across from the Dunganon zoo. 7 acres of workable land, remaining is mixed wood lot.
