Work trucks stolen in Blyth
North Huron — OPP officers are investi-
gating the overnight theft of a work truck
stolen from GL Hubbard Ltd. in Blyth.
Sometime between 11:15 p.m. on August
11 and 6 a.m. on August 12 someone
entered onto the rutabaga plant prop-
erty located at 367 Dinsley Street in Blyth
and stole a red 2008 Ford F1-150 pickup
truck from the front main parking lot.
The pickup truck had been left inse-
cure with the keys left inside the vehi-
cle. Also stolen was a black, plastic tool-
box containing several long wrenches.
The pickup truck is valued at
approximately $4,000.

Speeder found with
marihuana
Bluewater - A traffic stop for speed-
ing turned into a little more after police
found the driver in possession of mari-
huana. On August 4 at approximately 9:30
p.m. a OPP officer observed a Honda Civic
speeding along Zurich-Hensall Road.
The officer confirmed the vehicle's speed
with a RADAR device and measured the
speed at 116 kilometres per hour in a
posted 90 kilometre per hour zone.
While speaking with the driver the officer
detected the presence of marihuana inside
the vehicle. The driver was placed under
arrest and a quantity of marihuana was
located when police searched the vehicle.
As a result a male from Goderich has
been charged with Speeding and Pos-
session of a Schedule II Substance (Mari-
huana). He has been released from cus-
tody with a court appearance scheduled.
Intoxicated driver refuses
to provide sample
Bluewater - A 29 -year-old driver from
Kitchener is facing two criminal charges
after he was stopped by police on August
9, 2015. At approximately 9:20 p.m. a
OPP officer observed the driver of a Toy-
ota sedan travelling eastbound on Dash-
wood Road in an erratic manner. Upon stop-
ping the vehicle the officer spoke with the
driver and noted the driver had been drink-
ing alcohol. Further observations were made
that indicated the driver's ability to drive a
motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
The driver was arrested for Impaired Driv-
ing and a demand was subsequently given to
the driver for breath samples. The driver was
then transported to the Exeter OPP detach-
ment for breath tests. At the detachment the
driver refused to provide suitable samples
of his breath to the intoxilizer technician.
As a result the driver has been charged with
Impaired Driving & Refuse to Provide Breath
Sample. He has been released from cus-
tody with a court appearance scheduled.
He also received an automatic 90 day driv-
er's licence suspension and his motor vehi-
cle has been impounded for seven days.
