Reader appreciates Free Press column
Dear Editor:
John Robson's column in the London
Free Press, August 15, is worthy of com-
ment. Robson's rant about Stephen
Harper's track record is insightful, damn-
ing and surprising.
Surprising, in that Robson is a committed
conservative who is well known for his
strongly held right wing values.
Damning, in that Robson clearly states
that Harper repeatedly lied to Parliament in
the fall of 2013 when he told, " incompatible
tales five days apart" and then, "lying about
having contradicted himself"
Insightful, in that Robson clearly states
that which the ongoing Duffy trial may never
be able to state, that is, Harper is a key player
in the Duffygate scandal.
Canadians are hereby invited by Robson's
revelations to consider whether they wish to
vote for a man, who, according to Robson's
recall of events of October 2013, repeatedly
lied to his colleagues in Parliament.
Yours truly,
Jim Hollingworth, Goderich
Grand opening announced for St. Joseph's Kingsbridge
Dear Editor:
As you may be aware, St. Joseph's Kings-
bridge Community (SJKC) has successfully
purchased the former St Joseph's church and
rectory. During the last two months, a great
deal of work has been done by many volun-
teers to complete required renovations.
We are now thrilled to announce the
opening of St. Joseph's Community, Kings-
bridge Centre on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 7:30
p.m. Please consider this your invitation to
the grand opening. There will be a short pro-
gram, featuring the Kingsbridge Choir and
dignitaries. Refreshments will be available
and future plans will be on display.
The Kingsbridge Centre will be a multi -use
facility and we anticipate the benefits of this
facility to be far reaching. The hope is
to engage seniors, families and youth and
preserve local history. This will provide a
venue for large and small events such as
concerts, speakers, plays, meetings, wed-
dings and memorials.
The project is an ambitious one. With the
energetic involvement of our community
members, the enthusiastic support of our
local business and the multitude of grants
available, SJKC is very optimistic of what the
future holds.
See our web site at www.stjosephskings-
bridge.com, where there is a two minute
video further explaining SJKC's vision, as
well as links to media coverage from CTV
London, CBC radio and local papers.
We hope to see you at the grand opening
and at future events. Come share the vision,
share the dream!
