Spring Thankoffering held at the Brucefield Community United Church with ladies invited from Hensall and Bayfield. Brenda Wright lead the Devo- tion, welcomed all ladies and gave a few a Spring quotes as well as the Call to Worship fol- lowed by Prayer. Helen Keys read a poem on Spring Rain and Joan Beierling read the Scripture Reading for the evening as well as the Medita- tion with help of Brenda Wright, Helen Keys and Joan Van Slighenhorst. The offering Tuesday evening went to the Canadian Mental Health Association for the Huron Perth Branch as Tuesday was World Health Day. Joan Van Sligenhorst introduced our soloist Willi Laurie who is a member and also sings for the Blyth Festival Singers. Thank you Willi! Helen Keys had the privi- lege to introduce the guest speaker for the evening Faye Murray. Faye is an Occu- pational Therapist who helps people help themselves. She is also certified by IBA Global Healing Health Well- ness and Fitness to practice Body Talk. She is a Brain Gym instructor and consultant working with children with learning and perfor- mance challenges. Faye is also into Reiki. Faye talked about how important water is to our bodies and showed the ladies different ways to relieve stress with brain buttons, cross crawls and hookups. All ladies were actively enjoying her talk. Helen Keys thanked Faye and Joan Van Sligenhorst did the closing. Ladies enjoyed lunch and fellowship. Church on Sunday flowers were placed in the sanctuary in loving memory of Ralph Stephenson. Please keep Mona and her family in your thoughts and Prayers. A seventieth wedding anni- versary Open House is com- ing up on Sunday, April 19 from 2-4 p.m. at the Stan- ley Complex,Varna. Ruby and Gordon Hill have reached that milestone. Congratula- tions to both of them. The Oddfellows Card Party was held last Thursday even- ing. High man was Jim Col- lins, low man Bob Fothering- ham. High lady was Joan Beierling, low was lady Cathy Boon and most lone hands went to Ethel Walker. Draw prizes went to Jim Col- lins, Alma Finnegan and Doug Cartwright.
