A record time for converting grain
into bread has been established by a
Canadian farmer, Wheat which was in
the sheaf at 3 o'clock in the afternoon
was made into scones before 6. When
operations began a wagon stood in the
bare with about half a load of grain in
the sheaf, Beside it was a thresher;
connected with this was a gasoline
engine. The eugige Was started, the
sheaves were fed into the thresher and
the grain was deposited in a bin. The
power was then transferred to the clean-
er and the work of cbanging the newly
threshed wheat into floor was quickly
carried through. The rest of the task
was easy.

between 80,000 and 100,000 young trees
having been planted. In some oases the
planting was done on waste sand land,
and in others on waste hill sites, the
size of the plantations, of course, vary-

about 2,000 trees to the acre being plant-
