Seaforth until Tuesday when Requiem Mass Snow piled up as grader broke down The steady snowfall Monday gradually piled up on Seaforth roadways while the toWn's public works crew looked on helplessly. The problem was with the town's grader which is suffering from old age. ."There were a lot of things wrong with it," explained Seaforth town clerk James No date set y No date has been set yet for the Ontario Police Commission (OPC) investigation into the conduct and performance of duties of Seaforth police chief John Cairns. The town has sent a letter to the OPC - requesting the investigation, which will include public hearings likely to be held in Crocker. "It was in pretty bad shape." The grader was finally repaired and on the roads by 4 p.m. The public works committee, at its meeting Tuesday night, planned to look at the situation. William Edmund El - Van rolls on Kippen 'man intured An accident on County Road 12, south of Seaforth on Monday night. resulted in S2.000 damage to a van driven by John McGregor of R.R. 2. Kippen. Mr. McGregor, 40, was southbound on the highway when his van skidded on the icy road and rolled into the east ditch. The grill, windshield, roof and lett side 01 Inc vehicle were damaged when it overturned in the -ditch. Mr. McGregor received only minimal injuries in the accident which was in- vestigated by Constable T. Robert Sparling Mckercher of McKillop died in Seaforth Community Hospital on Tuesday. December 23 He was 72 While Mr McKercher had not been in the hest of health for some time o was only in the last few months that his illness has prevented full participation in his usual activities. Born in Mekillop he w as the son of the late Robert Finlay McK ember and Agnes Spading. He attended Seaforth Collegiate Institute and in 1931, upon graduation from the Ontario Agriculture College. The remains rested at the Whitney-Ribey Fun- eral Home. Seaforth. A largely attended funeral service was held in Northside United Church on Saturday. conducted by his minister Rev.
