Here t is the day before
Christmas and stillsome of
us. might not have all of our
Christmas rshopping done,
All of the things that have to
be done before jolly old St:
Nicholas slideS" down the•
Chimney are unreal'. For kids
however, the job of waiting is
quite bad enough.
• Tonight, the little bnes will
be tucked into bed about a
half hour earlier se that
Santa Claus will see the
lights out and sneak the
presents into the house.
Others will go to bed a half
hour later so that they can
see Santa slide down theit
neighbour's chimney. The
excitement of it all for both
parents and children means
that Christmas can only come
once'a year.
Can you imagine hav,ing to
year, °perking the •presents
that have. been bothering
overyone because thy were
under the tree, just beggi,ng
to be opened, and they had
the, most interesting rattle!
The thing that always a-
`mazed me must about Santa
Claus vvaillte fact that even
though sornetimes I didn't
get my letter mailed right
away, he always brought me
jsut what I wanted. I think he
has some sort of ESP powers.
The jolly" old man always
seems to make his arrival
without waking us, the dog
or our parents. Then the next
day, • we find that he's
brought some of the presents
that we had asked for. Som'-

times I used to think that for
overy carrot that 'we leave,
Santa adds ,another thing
from the' list of presents. All
children have different ideas
of the mysterious old man.
TODAY'S TOYS
While reading over the
letterf printed.in the Exposi-
tor before they were sent into'the North Pole, I learned alot
about toys. I thought it cute
when 1 what a little girl and
her brother had included the
page number of the catalo-
gue as well as their list.
Other children said they
would leave a bottle of beer
or a bit of whiskey for his
long•journey.

cookies, a turkey, bily some
presents and try to find good
hiding places twice' a year? If
you.think that would be bad,
think of poor Santa Claus!
But for kids it would be
great!
Tomorrow, most kids will
be playing with theit
toys, mothers will be picki g
up the wrapping paper ,in
their new dressing gowns,
father will be fitting pieces
together of Johnny's new
airplane model and Santa
Claus will be having a well-
deserved rest. Christmas
morning at our house always
