fire destroyed a two-storey frame house and all its contents in Varna. The

The highlight of the
Christmas meeting of the
Cromarty Marion Ritchie
evening auxiliary, held at the
home of Mrs. Larry Gardiner
Tuesday evening, was the
display and demonstration of
table and wall decorations
and arrangements, pre-
sented by Mrs. Raymond
Paynter, Kirkton.
The president, Mrs. Alec
Miller, welcomed 14
,rnembers and seven visitors.
The meeting opened with
carols accompanied on piano
by Mrs. Ivan Norris.
Lisa Gardiner delighted
everyone with a piano in-
strumental.
Mrs. Robert Laing
accompanied a carol sing on
accordian, Mrs. Miller read a
poem followed by the
Christmas Story read by
Mrs, Duncan Scott. Mrs.
Miller led in prayer. Roll Call
was answered with a version
on Peace. or a
memorable Christmas gift.
Everyone enjoyed a tape of
Christmas music which had
been taped at Cromarty
Church several years ago
with Mrs. Gordond Laing at
the stgan accompanying Mrs.
Nelson Pullman and David
Ratz on accordian.
During business, members
decided to begin quilting
early in January. A letter was
read reminding members of
the annual meeting of the
annual meeting of Stratford
Presbyterian Church,
Stratford on January 13.
Mrs. Alec Miller, Mrs.
Larry Gardiner and Mrs.
Carter Kerslake presented a
summary of the study book
on Human Rights - reviewed
this past year, which deals
with our native Indians. the
handicapped and women's
rights.
Mrs. Paynter presented
the group with a centrepiece
for a draw, which was won by
Mrs. Glen Elliott.
A delicious Christmas
luncheon was served by the
committee.
Mrs. William
Mahon hosted the Christmas
meeting of the Staffa
Women's Institute at her
home Dec. 18.
The president Mrs. John
Miller opened with the
Institute Ode.
Roll Call was answered tly
twelve members displaying a
. homemade Christmas gift.

A progressive euchre party
is to be held the third
Wednesday in January with
Circle I in charge.
A sing -a -long of Christmas
Carols was enjoyed
accompanied on organ by
Mrs. Mahon. Everyone
brought a gift for the
Mitchell Nursing Home.
Secret Pals were revealed
and gifts exchanged, also
secret pals chosen for 1981

hostesses. Mrs. Wm. Mahon

Manor enjoys Christmas party
Seaforth Manor Residents
held their annual Christmas
Party on Friday. December
19th. A number of visitors
and family members joined
with the residents for an
afternoon of music, singing
and dancing. Music was
supplied by James Rosei
piano, Elgin Nott violin. Mrs.
Wilma McLean accordian
Art Finlayson guitar.
R ibert Abelhart favoured
with step -dancing number
and also led in the singing of
old favourite songs and
Christmas carols. Santa
Claus appeared at the cnd of
the program with a hearty
handshake and a gift for
