Seaforth has always

used to be..
At a recent 'game
between the Seaforth
Centenaires and the Lucan
Irish there was plenty of
room, and need, for some
of that support. The arena
was nearly empty. The
young men on our team are
competing with the tele-
visibn sets of town re-
sidents and loasing. The
fans who do not come out
are missing some excellent
hockey and hurling the '
team by their absence.
Gary Gray; President of,
,
the Centenaires BOoster
Club, said that "ticket sales
for Sunday's game would
generate only enough funds
to, pay the officials" and
will be $US short for arena
rental expenses. This is.
'typical of all the home town
games. "To help with ex-
penses this year" Gaiy said
"it was necessary to ask the
_ployersio_pay S40 Parb "
The small caslrflow is net
what bothers Gary the -
most. He feels a team
cannot plak their best with-
out people in the stands,
cheering them on.
If you would like to help,
do not send money. The
Centenaires are not a
charity. They are a group of
young men, paying for the
privilege of playing hdckey
to entertain you. You can
help by coming to a game.
Bring your family. Bring a
friend. Enjoy yourself.
I LIKE HOCKEY—Two year old Shaun Anstett enjoys watching hockey
games at the Seaforth Arena. Although he was unable to stand still long
enough to be interviewed, he did show us that warm clothing is doential
for: spectators. (Photo by Dillon)
They came from afar and worshipped him.
CENTENA1RE FANS—"Come on boys, skate"
Two very solid fans, John and Audr0 McLiwain
