The bank of Montreal
closed their branches last
week in Brucefield and
Londesboro.
Citizens of Londesboro
organized - a meeting
Wednesday which was
attended, by several carloads
of people from Brucefield,
An official from the Bank
of Montreal in Clinton stated
lack of computers and
seciirity of the bank
personnel were the main
reasons for leaving.
There has been a bank in
Brucefield since 1907.

pupils held their Christmas
concert Sunday afternoon.
Bob Walters, Sunday School
superintendant, welcomed
everyone ,and thanked the
board of stewards for the
new curtains for stage. Rev.
R. McMullen led in singing
Christmas carols with
Barbara Livermore at the
piano.
Each class with their
teachers Joari Gruenvvald
,and Joyce Walters for the
small children, Mary
Fotheringham and Doris
Cantelon for the juniors.

Moffat and Doeha McBeath
and Jean Rathwell for the
intermediates, Marilyn
Braodfoot and Ann Walters
the seniers,each presented a
number. These were inter-
spersed with a piano duet by
Kim Rathwell and Nancy
Taylor, piano solos by Jerry
McBeath and Lynn Moffat,
guitar selections by Jo-anne
Gruenwald and a reading by
Cindy Walters. Carols were
sung and Santa arrived and
gave a present to each child.

Hymn "Away in a Manger*
was sung with Mrs. Elsie
Henderson at the piano. The
scipture was read from Luke
2 verses 8-20.
• The theme was on Christ-
mas eve a long time ago and
referred to a little Mexican
boy who had no gift for Jesus
and chose to take a star -like
plant that appeared in front
of him. Known to us as the
Pohl settia Plant. They also
poinieu out that you can have
a memorable Christmas
without a lot of wealth and
confusion,
Hymn "Ct little town of
Bethlehem" was sung. The
Devotions closed with a story
"The day after Christmas."
The president Mrs. Hazel
McCartney was glad to see
so many out especially visi-
tors. She read a Poem
Ringette team wins
On Friday night the Sea -
forth Junior Girls Ringette
team played an exhibition
game with Clinton Senior
girls, and defeated them
17-0. Lisa O'Dwyer played
goal for the first time this
season and did a great job in
reeordine the shutout.
Defenc-emen Kendra Pap-
ple, Chris Campbell, Tracy
Taylor, Jennifer Watt° and
Debbie Core kept the Clinton
Seniors at a disadvantage

play managed to keep the
ring out of the Seaforth end

Salaries were set for the
elected and appointed staff
at the last Hullett township
meeting. Increases were
marked across the board for
hired staff. The clerk -
treasurer's salary was set at
516,000 plus 52,000 for
travelling expenses, road
superintendent, $8.25 per
hour plus expenses up from
57.30; grader operator is up
from 56.75 to 57.50 plus 100
per cent OHIP coverage. The
