VIETNAMESE CHISTMAS
There -will be a special
Christmas dinner for the
Vietnamese refugees at the
Vanastra Recreation Centre
on Christmas Day. Prepar-
ation begin around 2' 30 and
dinner with all the trimmings
around 5:30. Around 8:00
everyone is invited for an
informal program of singing
and a Christmas film and
music. The refugees will also
put on a program of Viet-
namese songs and musk for
us. This will be a very
strange and lonely time for
these people away from
friends. family and country
so let's try and make things a
little brighter and more
cheerful for these courageous
people.

FARMER'S NIGHT
On WednestlaY Dec. 3rd
the Vanastra & District Lions
Club held a special farmers
night in place of their regular
monthly dinner meeting.
Each Lion member brought a
farmer as their guest. Lion
Jim Ryan introduced the
guest speaker f4 the even-
ing - Dennis Martin from the
•Ministry of Agriculture in
Clinton. Everyone enjoyed a
most inleresting slide pre-
sentation antspee&niftm
management. Other guests
for the evening were mem-
bers of the Exeter Lions
Club. The highlight of the
evening was the presenation
of certificates of appreciation
to guest farmer Eldon 0'
Brien for his help in various
Lions Project. Two other
certificates of appreciation
were to be presented to
Richard Kootstra and Bob
VanDenNeueKer for their
help rendered but they were
absent.
Thank you to those who
helped with the float which
was entered in the Goderichi
Santa Claus parade and the
ID
BANK
Clinton parade, The float will
also be entered in the Exeter
Parade op Sat Dec. 13th.
