HAWKS 8 FLYERS 4
The Hawks rolled into this
week's showdown with the
Canadians in a big way by
mashing the Flyers 8-4 dur-
ing last Sunday's early match
Casey. Klaver and Sid
Wocks again engineered the
snrprisingly easy win by each
goring two goals. Gary Fini--
gri, Terry Craig,' Ben Van
Den sAkker and Doug Fry
finished the Hawks scoring
spree.
I Bill Price, Jim Coleman,
Sill Brown Sr. and Gerry
Barringer all replied for the
Orangemen.
CANADIANS 4 PENGUINS 4
, The Penguins rode the
soperb goaltending of Steve
Webster and the result was a
big 4-4 tie with the en tin .
dans during last Sunday's Blue Shirts,
middle match. • Bill O'Shea, Paul
Despite holding a Witlid John Jannutat, Doug
edge in shots on net the
Canadians were stopped re-
peatedly by Webster's hero-
ies. ,
Dave Langstaff scored the
hat trick for the Pens while
Peter .Martene added i sin-
gle goal.
Murray Henderson moved
into a tie for, the LILL.
scoring lead by netting three,
big goals.
Dale Kennedy rounded out
the Canadians scoring.
RANGERS 6 BRUINS 5
When you are ahead 5-3
with just nine minutesleft
and solid control of the game
you should win right?!
Wrong. The Bruins had it all
going for them during last '
Sunday's graveyard game
but a tremendous rally by the
Rangers quickly snuffed out
any ideas of a win.
George Reeves second
goal of the game, a short-
handed effort, started the
winners on their way.
Ralph Wood, Kevin Hen-
derson, Fred Burton and Ken
Devereaux also tallied for the
Vincent spiel a success
The Seaforth Curling Club
was a busy spot last week
when the Vincent Farm
Equipment Spiel was held.
There were some very close
games and a Goderich team
skipped by Cam Bogie was
the winner of the early draw.
Second place was won by a
Seaforth team skipped by
Dave Beattie with Steve
Brown, vice, Bill Fleming,
second and lead John Moore.
Seaforth also took third
spot with skip. Bob Fother-
inghami vice Murray Forbes,
second Eric McIntosh and
lead Carl Richardson. Gord
Pryce, Bruce Coleman,
Laurie Fisher and Tom
'Turner of Seaforth took
Consolation..
Doug Rathwell of Listowel
skipped his team into top
spot on the second draw. A
Seaforth team of Lavern
Hoeu, Bob Jarrnuth, Ross
Lovett, and Bnan Coulees
came in second. Kitchener's
Newt Kenney team won third
place and Seaforth's team of
Mel Gilbert, Dave Ste.
Marie, Neil Dolmarre and
Gerry Lobb won Consolation.
Cam Bogie was overall
winner for the day.
Between games the
spectators were treated to a
bit of • entertainment when
"Crazy Legs" from Wallace -
burg showed a few tricks he
does while riding around on
curling stones. Many thanks
to Vincent's for sponsoring
the SDiti.
Two teams were off to
other clubs on Saturday. Bill
Campbell, Gord Pryce, Mike
Thomas and Neil Dolmage
travelled • to St. Marys for
their cash spiel. They won
the "C" Division and got a
little cash to help Santa out.
The Exeter Club had a
good day and a Seaforth
team did well as they were
over-all winner of the day.
Irma Pryce skipped, Gwen
Patterson played vice with
Marilyn Thomas second and
lead Ila Mathers of Exeter.
Good going.

Seaforth Pee Wees hosted
Wingham Pee Wees on the
