pretty cold for early December.
-Dr. MoAsh, late of Bolgrave, who
spent a year in the Old Land in further-
ing his studies has moved from Clinton
to Sarnia, where he will praetioe.
-At a recent meeting of the Toronto
Enron Old Boys' Associa ion, Mr. W.
E. Groves, late of Wingham was elected
Vice -President, The Association do-
nated $50 to the Goderioh hospital.
-The regular December meeting of
Wingham L. O. L., No. 794, will be
held on Friday evening of this week, A
short programme is to be given and re-
freshments will be served. The memb-
ers are expected to be present.
-.A. Christmas entertainment ander
the auspice of the Sunday school of S. S.
No. 9 (Currie's school) East Wawanosh,
will be held on Friday evenirg, Decemb-
er 14th. A good program is being pre-
pared and the public is invited,
-Mr. J. B. Swarts is now being his
new livery barn,tbe horses and rigs were
put in the new building last week.
Work war not commenced on this build-
ing until the middle of October. Mr.
Swarts has made a record in the build-
ing line.
-The TIMES is in receipt of a letter
from Mr. Geo. M. Manners, who is now
located at Souris, Man. and we were
pleased to Iearn that lit is doing well in
the West. The recent snow storm in
the West was the worst he had ever
witnessed.
-Mrs. Chas. Gray, daughter of the
late B. Holmes, of Turnberry, died at
Waterdown last week. She is survived
by her husband and four sons Wm.
Holmes, of town; John Holmes of Turn -
berry and Andrew Holmes, of Blnevale
attended the funeral of their sister.

Mr. W. J. Neil is in Toronto this week
attending the biennial grand lodge
meeting of the International Brother-
hood of the Maintenance of Way Em•
pleyees.
Rev. T. S. and Mrs. Boyle were called
away on Wednesday by the sudden
death of Mrs. Boyle's brother, Mr. W.
S. Brown, in Montreal. No particulars
were received. Mr. Brown was a well
known business man, and had not pre-
viously been ill.
Six Indians from the Cape Croker re•
serve were drowned in McGregor Harbor
while returning in a boat from their
work in the lumber woods.

dence of her father, Mr. John Leathorn, Dia-
gonal street this (Thursday) afternoon at 2.80
o'clock for Wingham cemetery.
