HENSALL UNITED
CHURCH
To illustrate Stewardship
In the church setting, Rev.
Stanley McDonald read a
modern parable which was
acted out as a skit by Lorne
and Joan Thrower and Brad
Buchanan at the Hensall
United Church on Sunday,
November 23rd. In the skit,
.the Throwers dined at a
7
fancysrestaurant, were given
an oversized bill, which they
paid pins a 10-15 % tip for
the waiter,
However at
church at the next day, they
dedided that a silver coin was
all that was needed- for the
offertory.
The sermon was titled "Do
you love the waiter more
than God?" and Rev.
McDonald questioned why,
what •• and how much
Stewardship demands? All
these questions can be

world that He gave His only
beloved Son". There are
litany reasons for the "Why"
but love should rule them all%

depends on the individuals;
love overrules any per-
centage and dedication of
ourselves is the ultimate goal
of Stewardship.

the large piece left for
ourselves. Even if we give
God a Tenth (a tithe) He
leaves us plenty f or
