Jim and Anne Cunning-
ham enjoyed an early start to
their Bonspiel season last
Saturday when they took part
• in a mixed spiel at the Galt
Curling Club. It was their -
first visit to the bcentury-old
club where they were treated
to some of the ' best ice
we've ever curled on." Anne
and Jim were the guests of
their friends, Dick and Shir-
ley Cunningham, and the.
foursome .played three 8 -end
games.
With the pre-christmas
draw half complete. and the
weather turning cooler, curl-
ers' thoughts are turning
more to the bonspiel circuit.
If re looking for some -
:re to go, check the notice
hoards which are bursting
isith announcements from
Curling Clubs across south-
ern .Ontario. If you are
planning to curl in some of
our own club bonspiels, the

The head of this year's

she has providedfa list of all

ladies can sign up to help.
Actually, working at a Bqn-
spiel can be lots of fun; it
gives the 'afternoon' girls a
chance to meet the working
girls who curl in the evening.
When the work is shared the
time goes by quickly and
there's always the bonus of
watching competitive curling
during slack periods. All
monies raised by the Ladies
Section goes toward the
betterment of the club, either
in improvements to the kit-
chen or other club fittings -
such as was done this year -
or as an outright donation to

Theladies have a Fun Day
planned for Ttiesday, Dec-

noon curling followed by a
get-together until the work-
ing girls have chance to
arrive. Fun curling will begin
at 5 p.m. with a Pot Luck
dinner at 7:30 p.m. All ladies
are invited. Look for the
sheet and sign up for this
event. It will help the com-
mittee organize the draw as
well as providing details of
the dinner arrangements.
Incidentally, there still are
two more weeks of regular
curling left in the ladies

this fun day.
