An ironic twist here was that
in reaching this final they
defeated the Bogie rink of
Goderich in their fourth and
semi-final game - the team
that handed them their only
loss during the second round
of the A -event, which placed
them in the C -event in first

HOSPITALITY
The out -to -town teams re-
ceived the usual good hos-
pitality everyone has come to
expect from Seaforth, includ-
ing a delicious barbecue
steak dinner on Saturday. All
around -it- was a weekend

enjoyed by both curlers and

ing last Sunday's early

Kevin Bennett emerged
from the shadows of a slow •
start by scoring a goal and
setting up four others on the

Bill Price scored his se-
cond goal of the night with
just 2:30 left to give the
Flyers an exciting 3-2 upset
win over the Hawks during
last Sunday's middle match.
It was the second win in as
many meetings for the or-
apgemen over the birds.
Jerome Oubin produced
the other Flyer marker with
Gary Finigan and Ron Quipp
doing the damage for the
Hawks.

brief two game Penguin win
skein with a 6-2 'triumph
during fast Sabbath's grave-
yard game.
• The winners used a steady
puot control style to down a
team that had looked very
good in recent weeks.
Murray Henderson and
Dave Broome each counted
twice for the winners. Mike

Ray Devereaux and Jim

and barring any serious
injury this could be a banner
season for the local Midgets.
The local Scaforth Mid-
gets came up with a super
hockey game as they belted a
select Kitchener team 15-3 in
an exhibition hockey game at
the local arena last Friday
night.
The Seaforth squad show-
ed pure hustle right from the
opening face off as they
jumped into a 4-0 first period
lead and increased it to 11-2
after the second.
