It was an Ecumenical set. -

to partake.,

Rev. Vanslyke,t*tinued
to enlarge on hiMeading
from Paul's letters tp the
Corinthians. He had 'CO deal
-different people —With- ••
different ideas and heliefs.
Jesus found • a likeness
among each to bring them
together, So it is with us.
Here we at Kilbarchan
gathered together on a
common ground to take
Communion together with
btu oughts the same, as we
Alto ht of God's ,son who
d' d on the Cross for .the
f iveness of our sins. All of
us. ristians, united in
'basic C rtstian beliefs, He
discussed the reason Jesus
el -Ise the bread and wine as
sacrement elements
RreI from the same loaf.
B ith these elements could
re rid us of Christ's
su ering on the Cross. Rev,
Va sly had explained it
thiS ,way Bread; went
through much ' hardship,
before it was ready to
nourish people as food. It
was planted in the fall and
hd to endure the rigours of
winter With- frost—and- or
snow,
It develops during the
Summer, harvested and
taken to the mill, where it is
briiised and ground into
flour. It is then made into
breadikneadediand cooked in
a hot oven. Then speaking of
tthe wine. The grapes have to
• be planteryiarvested,ripened,
and the juice crushed out of
• the grapes to make wine.
Jesus left his disciples
when .all were gathered
together, He took bread and
broke it saying., This do in
remembrance of , me.
Likewise he took the cup of
wine and said as oft as you
drink it in remembrance of
me, my blood shed for you
for remission of sins. The
•bread is used to represent
the broken body of Christ.
Holy, Communion was then
administered to those who
wished it.
Every kernel of wheat is
-different-just-a, people are
but we are bound by the
same b-•nd as Christians.

To -day is bright and sunny
with 'a shower' of leaves.
Only two bright red branches
remain for us to feast upon,
from my window.
'Then all will be gone. It is
sad! but is nature's way. The
leaves must. die to be
'renewed again in the spring.
On looking out the leaves are
very busy to -day, some
rustling on the limbs and
others fluttering to the well -
carpeted lawn. Soon it will be
blanketed by a, snow -fall.
Never a dull moment! In this
varied climate.
