apprnvoan advertiSing program as outlined
IV, the cOUnty's developMent cortindttee
which includes the printing of a tabloid
nevvspaper to be distributed as a county
promotion.
The cost of ,tho long-term advertising
program is estiMated at about $22,000.
The council approved the printing of an
, 8 -page tabloid newspaper which will
promote Huron County as a good place to
locate a business or light industry. It will
also promote the attractiveness of Huron as
a home and vacation site with emphasis on
quality of life. The paper will be produced in
a quantity of 20,000 for a price not to exceed
$12,000. and will be distributed by the
development department.
The county also adopted the idea of a
"Press Relations" release and the purchase
of the necessary paper at a cost of 5600.
A standard advertising format to be used
by all county department in 1981 was
adopted. Cost for the artwork and 20 copies
of six sizes is to cost $169.
The council also approved the idea of
overprinting the county placemat in future

away Nov. 1st in his 83rd
year. He,was a son of the late
Edward Walter .and Mrs.
Robert Dayrymple. Born and
raised on the second Con. of
Tuckersmith he 'received his
education at S.S. No. 4.
In poor health for a
number of years he had been
employed at G.M.C. Pontiac
Mich. until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife
the former Josephine Hud-
son one son Jimmy and two
grandchildren-, -two -sisters

MICHAEL McCARTY
Michael McCarty. 79, of
Mason Villa, London. and a
former resident of Logan
Township, died at his home
Thursday.
Born at lot 8 Con. 8 of
Logan Township, July 27,
1901, he was the son of the
late Michaei McCarty and
fofmer Maria Jordan.
He was predeceased by his
wife, the former Grace Mc
Guinness, in 1954. Mr.
McCarty had farmed at lot 8
Con. 8 of Logan Township
until 1954, and has resided in
London for thc past 15 years.
He is survived by one
rucce. Mrs. Wilfred (Ellen)
Maloney of R.R. 5 Mitchell;
and two nephews. Leo and
Dan McCirty. both of Cam-
bridge. He was predeceased
by two brothers.
Friends were received at
the Lockhart funeral home.

morning. when the funeral
service was held at St.
Vincent de Paul Roman
Catholic Church. Mitchell. at
10:30 a.m. Burial was in St.
Vincent de Paul cemetery.

Mrs. Albert Horner, 84. of
62 East William St., Sea-
farth. died Thursday at the
Stratford General Hospital.
Born in Goderich Town-
ship she was the former
Violet May Rathwell. a
Couple renew
vows after
40 years
To mark their 40th Wed-
ding Anniversary. October
10th, Hubert and Lenore
O'Reilly, 357 Stratton Dr.
I.ondon. celebrated with a
family supper followed with
renewal of wedding vows,
mass and reception. all held
ai St. Patrick's Church and
parish hall OP Dundas St.
The couple's renewal of
wedding vows was per-
formed by Father 'Morn-
bley.
Hubert and Lenore were
married at St. Patrick's
Church, Dublin, by Father
Ffoulkes on October 12th
1940. They lived in Dublin
until moving to London in
1959.
The couple have three
children; Mrs. Floyd Dale
(Marone) Seaforth. Mrs.
Richard Nicoll (Dianne)
Windsor and Bill of Lyons. -
and six •grandchildren.
Relatives and friends who
helped celebrate the anniver-
sary were from London.
Seaforth, Windsor, Lyons,
Stratford, Toronto, Kitchen-
er, Brantford and Sault St.
Marie.

The council approved the recommendation
that a standardized artwork be used in each
of the "Village" brochures;which prontote
• towns and villages in the county.
The present county of Huron booklets and
• the Town booklets will be retained as the
County of Huron brochure for follOw-up to
the tabloid newspaper, These can have the
standard format artwork on the cover as
suggested for the "Village" brochures.
Council approved the development
committee's recommendation not to
purchase a table top display at a cost of
$2,500. Each display will have different
space allocation and can be designed and
erected if the county advertizes at a show.
The promotional package was presented
to county council at their September 29
meeting by Adrian Bayley, representing
Agripress, a Huron advertising agency.
The suggestions were referred to the
county's development committee which
made its recommendations to council for the
October 30 meeting.

daughter of the late John
Rathwell and the former
Sarah Reid.
She and •her husband
Albert Horner whom she
married in 1916, farmed in
Stanley and later in McKillop
at, the site of the present
Seaforth Community Hos-
pital until retiringin SeafVh
in 1960.
She was a member of
Northside United Church.
Surviving besides her hus-
band, are one daughter.
Mrs. Frank (Marion) Ruston,
of 42 Whitelock St., Strat-
ford; one son, Gordon, of
Kitchener; also five grand-
children and five great-
grandchildren. She was pre-
deceased by two brothers.
Fred and Harold.
Friends were received at
Box Funeral Home. Seaforth,
where a service was held 2
p.m. Monday. Rev. James
Vanslyke was officiated in
Baird's cemetery. Brucefield
where pallbearers were Carl
Leonhardt, Wm. Kelly. Wat-
son Webster, Jack Davidson,
Russel Coleman and Darcy
Rathwell.
Flower bearers were
Gerald Horner, Jim Halden-
meyer, Sean Barr and Leslie
Blackwell.

Arthur J. Bushic, 79,
formerly of Seaforth who hal
been a resident of the Craig
Nursing Home in Ailsa Craig
for the past four years. died
Saturday at St. Joseph's
Hospital. London.
Born at Port Severn. he
was a blacksmith by trade
and was later an employee of
the town of Seaforth retiring
in 1960.
Surviving are his wife. the
former Lucinda Edwards. a
resident of Kilbarchan Nurs-
ing Home. Seaforth. two
daughter. Stella Peacock. of
Clinton. and Sandra Mc-
Cann. of IS Kappele Cir.
Stratford; one son. Frank. of
192 West Gore St.. Stratford:
one sister. Flora Spencer. of
Peterborough; one brother.
Albert Bushie. of Norwood; a
half-brother. Olvier Geroux.
of Hamilton, and three
grandchildren.
Friends were received at
the R S. fax Funeral Home.
47 High St.. Seaforth. where
a service was held 11 a.m
Monday when Rev. J. C.
Caruana officiated. Burial
followed in St. James ceme-
tery.
Pallbearers were Frank
Bushie, Gerald, Robinson,
Brian Antnony, Oliver Ger-
oux, Don Spencer and Gary
• Spencer.
MRS. THOMPSON SCOTT
'Belle "Forsyth" Scott died
in a Travers City Nursing
Home, in Northern Michigan
on Sunday Oct. 26 after a
long illness. Born in, Tucker -
smith on October 1st 1897 at
Lot 15- Concession 8 H.R.S.
She was the daughter of the
late Abe Forsyth and Jennie
Finlayson and attended pub-
lic School at S.S. #9 Tucker -
smith and Sea -forth Colleg-
iate Institute.
She was a gifted pianist
and accompanied on the
piano with her father and
uncle in the Forsyth Qrche-
sta at many Old Time dances
and social gatherings in the
community. over half a cen-
tury ago.
On October 18th 1924, she
married G. Thompson Scott,
of Scott's Paint and Wallpa-
per Store in Seaforth. After
living in Seaforth for a short
time, she and her husband
moved to Grosse Ile, Michi-
gan and later to Detroit where
they lived for many years
6efore-retiring toJALest..Land
Michigan where her husband
died in 1972.
Mrs. Scott is survived by

Michigan and Marilyn. Mrs.
Jim Peters of Detroit and by
several grandchildren and
great grandchildren. She was
predeceased by on brother
Jack Forsyth in 1949.
The funeral was held in
Detroit, on October 28 „ with
burial in Westland Cemetery
Michigan.

Dispatcher hired
from Sectforth ar
Miss Pevereaux joins the chief dispatcher and four other
dispatchers in the Huron system. Eleanor Devereaux Was
previously employed in the bookkeeping office of the"
Huron Expositor.
Eleanor Devereaux of R.R. 4, Seaforth, was recently
hired as a dispatcher for the Huron Municipal Police,
Communications System housed in Goderich.
" Miss Devereaux competed with 50, othcr applicants for
the dispatcher's job. Five people were interviewed
extensively by a selection committee Consisting of
Goderich Police Commission Chairman Judge F.G. Carter, ,
Chief Dispatcher Ken Anderson and the five police chiefs
involved in the county -wide communications. system.
Judge Carter said following the interviews, all the
candidates were of extremely high calibre.
