SENIOR CinzENS MEETS
A very successful Dessert
Euchre was held by The
Hensel! Women's Institute in
the Legion Hall on
Wednesday, October 15
when 17 tables sat down to
play.
Winners were: Ladies
high, Mrs. M2ry Broadfoot,.
Kippen, Ladies Low, Mrs.
Florence Keller, "Dashwood,
Lone hands, Mrs. Ina Neeb.
Zuirch_ Winners of the Ham,
Mrs: Arnold Merrier, Zurich
and of the salmon Mrs.
Myrtle Sherritt, Hensall.
Sitting in the lucky chair was
Mrs. Annie Finkbeiner,
Zurich.
The regular Sunday
service at Hensall United
Church was conducted by
Paul Schott of Centralia at 11
a.m. With Dr. Ralph Topp. at
the organ, the choir sang the
anthem, "For the beauty of
the earth" and the children's
talk was On, "Who is good
enough?" , Mr. Schott
preached on the thought that
man is his own worst enemy.
Man has been made in the
image of' God and has His
example to follow. God is
ready to share His glory with
us.
Flowers in the sanctuary,
were in memory ,of Russell
Erratt and Chad Peter
Zwann, placed there by their
families.
An interesting and „
inspirational evening was
held on Sunday, October 19
at Hensall United Church
when members of the
congregation gathered in the
Fellowship Hall to listen to
Miss Iris eastle of the
Baptist Mid Mission. Miss
Castle has spent 22 years in
St. Luciaas a missionary and
the last few years in New
Zealand. She showed
pictures and described the

Varna, where, on one occa-
sion, I had an experience that
had never happened in
Muskoka'. I had never seen
deer in their native haunts

except only in hunting sea-
son hunters would go by with
their kill draped over • the
hoc d or back of their car, a

sign of then hunting success,
On one occasion since
coming home read in the
'Forester' that one morning a
bull -moose was seen on Main
St. Huntsville, where I used
to walk for the mail every
morning before school. The
police dealt with it in a very
wise way.

• was never seen again. One

It all happened so sudden-
ly, I hardly realized what had
happened until I saw the
:white flash of their tails. It
re -41y gave Me quite a thrill. -
They cleared the hood of
the car but later I heard of
someone in town who had a
deer land on the hood of the
car. That would have been a
disturbing experience.
