Packs are for students The gallery in Stratford is about to begin its second year of an art • lending program for schools, librar- ies and community and ser- vice clubs in Huron and Perth Counties. The Art Parks are a visual lending library which can can be used for study work, and also for visual displays in classrooms and other areas. The package includes ori- ginal works of art, reproduc- tions and slide sets. The topics .covered are: local, general and native history; contemporary and historic art studies; nature studies and applied arts. More sub- jects are included in a list of 25 categories. There are 250 Art Packs. On October 8,- 9, and 10 the Art Packs will be on display for those members of the pdblic (teachers, librar- ians and others interested) who wish to know more about the lending program. Debbie Armstrong of Wingham was crowned Huron Queen of the Furrow by last year' g winner Janet Shapton of Exeter. The girls will be plowing Thur- sday and giving their speeches on Friday. Kenneth Innes of Brussels was the senior champion with the reserve title going to John Becker, Dashwood. Brian McGavin of Walton' was best in the junior competition and Be-van- Shapton, Exeter was the reserve champion'. Clair Deichert, Zurich won the round -the -field plowing competition and Harold Robinson, reeve of Howick township won the politicians and businessmen's com- petition. A lot of interest was shown in the antique plowing class.
