of -the activities and of the

homebound people.
Huron' County was chosen
by the Ontario Ministry of
Community and„ Social Ser-
vices for a pilot project to see
if day centres would work id "
_a large rural area_ with no
large urban centre. The pro-
gram has been very success-
ful and a second centre was
necessary in Wingham be-
cause of the size of the
county and the large number
of people wishing to take
advantage of the program.
The availability of the
apartment which "was former-
ly occupied by the admini-
strator of Huronview was
fortunate, os some of the
horn's facilities, suchas the
Alining room attrl the whirl,
pool bath, are used by the
centre's client. It's handy,
also, to the swimming pool at
Vanastra, with its accommo-
dation for people with dis-
abilities.
There are some money-
making activities :at the
centre, and a New Horizons
group has been very helpful.
Many of the'people working
with the clients are ,volun-
teers, including the th?fers
who provide transport Bon,
and some of the volunteers
are residents of the Huron -
view Home.
•Fee a tee of $4.00 per day,
*which „provides for transpor.
tation, and a het noon meal,
home und people have
been ivert the opportunity
for o or more days a week
to be in a cheerful group with
a variety of interesting and
fun things to do.
