Mrs, Martin Baan gave the Call tWorship with the SeventeOth and Boundary unit in charge of devotions. Judy Glousher read the scripture from 2rid Corinthians, followed by Mrs. Harvey Craig giving prayer. Mrs.'' Baan gave a reading inline with • the theme, "Promises more precious than Gold". The offering was received and dedicated. Graeme Craig sang a solo, "Amazing Grace" accompanying him- self with guitar. The topic on Stewardship, "It's a piece of cake" was •presented with Viola ,Kirkly, giving the commentary and with Leona McDonald taking the part of Mrs. Right; Edith Wey was Mrs. Wrong, Marilyn McDonald, caller from the church, Audrey Hackwelli the, landlord; Maxine Marks from the Supermarket; Margaret sa Craig from Hydro; Margaret Ritchie from Esso: Olene Dennis from • Charges; Dorothy McNichol 'the' telephone; • Marion' Godkin, the income tax; Melva A very pleasing song was given by the Godkin trio, with their mother accom- panying the girls at the piano ' Mrs. Ron Bennett; 3rd vice-president, took charge of business, opening, with a poem, Stewardship is giving. Mrs. Ken McDonald gave the financial report and told what had been done at the Manse. Mrs. Doti McDonald reported more help was ' needed to repair the front veranda at the manse and the furnace in church is to be replaced in the near future. It was decided to change the date of the evening of Gospel Music with . Reed Sellwood singers to Sunday. October 5 at 7:30 p.m.. due to the Anniversary service at Brussels United Church. Tickets are now available from any U.C.W. members. and area news Plans were made for lunch to be servedafter the morning service for their Anpiyersary on September 21 with the Rev. Others were present from London, Carlon, Clinton Blyth and Wingharn. A guess on the weight of a pig was won by Darlene Shobbrook. Marlene and Mary Vivian of Toronto spent the holiday weekend with their mother and visited their father in Clinton Public hospital. Mr. Vivian was transferred- to University Hospital, London on Wednesday Sept. 3rd. • Mr. and Mrs. James Aust- in of Elmira and their two granddaugtiters Tracy and Kelly visited with Alice Dav- idson of Thursday. Mr.,, and Mrs. Ronald Fairey and Wayne of New - Market, spent last Saturday evening with his sister Alice Davidson. Mr. and Mrs. Byron Pol- lock spent the holiday week- end with • her sister Alice Davidson. They visited their mother in Clinton Public HOspital. On September 6th Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Lovell spent the day with her Aunt Alice Davidson and visited her grandmother, Mrs. Grace Fairey. in Clinton Public Hospital. In the individual scoring Penny Qverboe has high triple 599, Marjorie McNall was runner up with 530, Nancy Wallace high single 214 followed by Genevieve Allen 211. The most improv- ed was' Genevieve Allen by plus 13. The runner-up was Roxy Maize with plus 11. Welcoming were Ian 'Wi- ley and Harry Snell, .ushers were Robbie Radford, David Whyte. and Gary Wilts.
