at the litnne of Mrs. Helen
Williamson with 9 members
and 2 visitors present. Mrs.
Hugh Johnson opened
devotiotts with a reading
"Every task," Jesus bids us 4
shine was sung accompanied
by pianist, Mrs. Martin
Baan. Mrs, Cliff Ritchie read
the scripture from Luke 18:1-
13. Mrs. Johnston led in
prayer and chose as the
topic, "A master plan".
Mrs. Ritchie closed with a
reading; "Children of Cod."
Mrs. Graeme Craig presid-
ed for the biisiness reading a
poent-A4Blessings-of-Godts.--
1ove". Minutes were read by
Mrs. Helen Williamson.
Thank you card was read
from George and Annie
Williamson.
,.Treasurer's report was
given by Mrs. Barry Hoegy
and the miscellaneous fund
was given by Mrs. H. John-
ston. Mrs, G, Craig repbrted
on,what had been done at the
manse. 'The unit is in charge
of the devotions at the
general U.C.W. meeting on
September 4.
Anniversary services will
be held on September. 21
with Rev. Hazelwood as
guest minister. An evening
of gospel music with the Reid
Sellwood Singers is planned
at Duff's Church on October
9 with tickets available from
U.C.W. members.
The next meeting in Sept-
ember is to be held at the
home , of Mrs. George
Williamson.
Mrs. H. Johnson closed
the meeting with prayer.

in Kitchener where she will

ary course. She begins her
studies the first of this Week.

the Squirt league„ Following ;
games this past week, in
which Expos eliminated the
Bluejays while the Mets
sidelined the Yankees.
This reporter ' has been
known to exaggerate using
the term close but in the
third squirt game it Was
"close." After seven innings
the game was tied between
the Orioles and the Pirates.
In the extra inning the
Pirates quickly took the lead
and after 71/2 innings lead by
eight runs, but at the bottom
of the eighth the Orioles
stormed back and the game
ended in a tie.
The Orioles lead the series 3
pts. -63 -1 -pt. withthewinne
advancing to the finals.
In other action the midgets
girls travelled " to Varna
where they were up ended by
the ' home team to tie the
series at one each.
The pee wee boys, wh ile
missing Ken, were surprised
winners over the Goderich

The McCall reunion was
held Sunday, August 17 in
Seaforth's Lion's Park with
an attendance of 53. After
the noon meal, a short,,
business period was con-
ducted by Ross Stephenson
with Jean Bewley as secret-
ary. Tfie nerifreunion will e
held Aug. 16, 1981 in Sea -
forth.
Ross Stephenson and Bill
Young were re-elected as
Prs. and Vice -Pres. Marian
Young, secretary; Susan and
Bert Buffinga, lunch
conveners and Bob and
Donna Mitchell will be in
charge of program and
sports.
New members of the clan
attending the reunion were:
Michelle Blake. daughter of
Paul and Debbie Blake; Doug
Bauer, who married Sheila
Burke June 21 and Doug
McClinchey, Karen Young's
fiancee.
Roll call consisted of each
person standing and giving
news concerning their
immediate family for the
preceding year. Tina McCall.
Guelph, the oldest member
of the clan died in April.
Gertrude Collins. Puslinch.
sent her regrets at -not being
able to attend. She also said
that Edna (McCall) Nelson
had fallen some time ago

plans new series
La Leche League,
Belgrave met at the home of
Mrs. Myri"Stewart to discuss
"Nutrition and Weaning",
on Aug. 19th. In appreciation
for having been hostess for
this series of meetings, Mrs.
Stewart was presented with a
book, "Woman at Home",
Tfiree areas of concern
, were touched upon. The
mothers were aware of the
Importance of good nutrition;
concentrating on a balanced
diet for all members of the
family. In choosing nutritious
foods, the mothers made a.
practice of reading labels.
Benefits for not offering
solid food until baby
indicates readiness for it
were noted, followed by a
sharing of ideas °tithe ord'ef-
of introducing foods.
Feelings and attitudes
concerning weaning were
described, as the positive
aspects of nursing a newborn
or an older baby were noted.
It was felt that weaning was a
personal affair, taking into
consideration the needs of
the baby as recognized by
