at the Vanastre Country Fair this past weekend.

TOP PETS.— Ail sizes, colors and shapes of cats,dogs, rabbits, hamsters,
guinea pigs and even a Pet Rock turned out for Saturday's pet show at the
Vanastra Country Fair. In the most unusual pet class the winners
included, left to right, Alison Jeacock of Vanastra with her first place
winning hamster; Dawn Riley of Kinburn with her third place rabbits and
. Michelle Govier of Vabastra with her second place guinea pig. In the cat
contest first place went to Jennifer Plumsteel and Mork; second went to
Theresa Bezzo and Patches of Clinton and Shelley Bonte-Gelak and
Cuddles from Vanastra came third. JoAnn Bernard and her dog Carmel
took first place In the dog contest. Ronnie Ferguson and Pebbles came
second and Rod Golding and Abby were third. Danny Riley and his pup
Spike took fourth place. in the big dog class, Brian Thomas and his Irish
Setter Max came first and Colin Thomas and Brandy were second. Glen
Cain and Nieka came third and Mary Mellon and Rebel took fourth prize.

LOTS OF ACTION — While the music played,
the rides spun around, the hot dogs sizzled and
the prizes were won, baseball action was taking
place at the Vanastra Country Fair. The
diamond was kept busy from/ morning until
evening as pee wee, squirt and midget teams
from the area competed for first place prizes.

THE BABY SHOW — Judges had a busy time choosing between the
young contestants in the baby show at the Vanastra 'Country Fair, but
their choices were good ones. Wee Victoria Anne Linton, daughter of
Bruce and. Nancy Linton of Vanastra was the winner in the up to seven
months class. Victoria Anne, left, is just a week-and-a7half old. in the
seven months to a year division, smiling Heather, 11 monthriold, was the
