Her family sug- gested a party at which they provided cake and ice cream. Webassembled in the dining room for this event. Lena was seated at the head of a long table with lace tablecloth and a table centre of pink earn- ations.la gift) for her family with Mrs. Anna Hoegy at the opposite end as she had been a friend' of the Bennewies family for many years. The large birthday cake was ser ved to all and Happy Birthday was sung by tht group. • Mr. and Mrs. Bruc-e Mc- Lean with Mrs. Bennewies. At the long table were daughters Hilda French, Brodhagen, Laura Rock, Mrs. George Rock, Mitchell, Edna Lloyd, Toronto, Reta Davis, Mitchell, Anna, Shar- on, Kitchener, William Ben- newies, son, Kitchener. Laura Rock thanked the staff on behalf of. the family and Mabel Turnbull replied welcoming all for their share in the successof the party. Rev. and Mrs. Amos Beard. Troy, Mich. Mrs. Mark- Culbert nee Susan Hildebrand Goderich visited Mrs. Bessie Smale, also Mrs. Glen Marshall, Foliation. Mrs. Lloyd Hack- ney, Exeter, visited her mother Mrs. Bessie Smale. Also grandson, Paul Hilde- brand who is a member of the Seaford] Fire 'Brigade which has been -very busy this past week. At the time of the disturb- ing electrical storm Tuesday the staff were taking no chances and moved the res- idents, upstairs, downstairs, just in case. Mrs. Wm. Soldan, nee Linda Muegge, Exeter visit- ed her grandmother, Anna Hoegy. Mr. and Mrs. John Bruls nee Sharon Edward •R.N.A., Huron Park, a form- er member of the staff called to visit with several residents including Mabel Turnbull and Ada Armstrong who was formerly a neighbour of Sharon's. On .3Vednesday Lynda Morrison, R.N.A. a member of the staff and I planned an , afternoon at the cottage at "Schadeview." It was an ideal day to enjoy an after- noon by the lake as the thermometer registered 90°F. 1 still use the old scale for measuring temperature and have never been able to leer in Celsius. 'Perish the thought'. In the days when I lived in • 'Muskoka, I could tell when I went out in the morning when it was often -30°F, as I knew the effect of that below zero had on the first breath, just a gulp, and all would seem normal. I must admit that after ten years in that climate I was cured of a chronic'ohest ailment. It has never bkthered me since to , any dee. I give the bracing Muskoka air all the Art Smale and Ross Smale took his mother Mrs. Bessie Smale to Pine Lake for supper. Jean Hildebrand also visited Mrs. Smale. Finally at 9 p.m. Saturday, the . fair winds up with a dance at the Vanastra Rec- reation Centre with music by 'Cadenza. SO come on out and have a good time everyone, we need your support.
