On Friday last a pa ty of hunters from
town spent a very en oyable opting in
quest of seasonable ga a in the vicinity
of Mr. Colin Kennedy' farm in Culross
township, about five ilea from here.
They were succeeded i capturing a few
coons and a number of abbits. During
their outing they found large patch of
wild strawbe.ry vines which were

School Wis Closed.
The Wingham s.mo0l was closed on
Tbnrsday and Frid sy last week, owing
to one of the scholr rs habiug diphtheria.
The buildiug was 1 wrought', disinfected

on Monday morns air. The patient is
now about fully ri covered and as no

be no fear. A wild rumor was in cir-
culation that there•were several cases of
this disease amonguhe children. This is
only a gossiping st y and everything is
moving along nicer at the school. There
is considerable di theria and typhoid
fever in a number !places in Ontario,
but fortunately W' gham has not One
case of fever and o 1y one case of diph-
theria and that pa ent is about fully
recovered.
