The Truro, N. S. News of Sept. 13th,
refers as follows to the marriage of a
young man, who resided in this yiIlage

A very pretty wedding came off on
the beautiful lawns of Hillsdale Farm,

married to William Mark Bailey of the

bride was most beatifully gowned in
white silkeoliene over white taffeta,
with yoke of white point dresprit, studd-

maiden hair fern. She also wore the
gift of the groom, a riob amethyst and
pearl pendant on a gold Chain. The
bridesmaid was Miss Ida Thompson,
Ottawa; and she looked charming in a
gown of white silk point d'sprit over
white taffeta; a white picture hat trim-
med with pink tulle and white fe atheis,
and tarried a shower bouquet of pink
roaes. Miss Robin Gay, niece of the
bride, was a pretty fiower girl. She
was dressed in white silk and carried a
basket of aerate and pink sweet peas.
Mr. Fleming Wilson, brother of the
bride, was groomsman. Atter the care-
mony, refreshments were served in the
dining room, Which was vett' prettily
and artistically decorated with green

many very beautiful wedding gifts, was

EXETER
It is estimated the Exeter fail fair was
attended last week by over 5,000 people.
This is an increase of about 800 over last
year's attendance. The borne show
easily surpassed anything of its kind
ever seen at a South Huron fall show,
not only in the number of entries, but
also in the high quality of the stock.
The exhibits in the main building also
were very good, especially the ladies'
work, whioh excited much favorable
comment. There was a general disap-
pointment on account of there being no
races. • The receipts of the day amount-
ed to about $1,000.

Y. P. S. Convention at Molesworth.
The annual Conr'ent;Cn of the Y. P, S.
of Maitland Presbytery was held n4
Molesworth an Tuesday afternoon and
evening, Sept 18th, and was a decided
success, In point of numbers nothing
more could be desired and everything
paseed off most satisfactorily. The
papers on 'The Triumphs of Christanity'
by Miss Kate McDonald and Mr. Wm
McDonald were declared by those cap-
able of judging, both as regards matter
and literary style to be excellent. Rev,
A. elacNabgave a splendid paper on
"Are we as Young People Measuring Up
to our Obligations." Rev. A. Wishart,
who by the way will be of great value
in the Young People's work, and Rev.
J. Radford, who has been elected Con-
vener for the next year, followed in short,
bat pointed speeches. A paper of very
considerable interest was read by Rev.
J. J. Hastie on "Japan as it is To -Day."
This gave a concrete example of the
"Triumph of Christianity."
The evening meeting began with a
short devotional part, the prayers being
definite. Rev, J. J, Hastie, Rev, A.
Gaudier, Rev. D. Petrie, Rev. A. Wis-
hart, leading, Afterwards Rev. A.
Gladiola. of Toronto gave a magnificent
address on "Our Indebtedness to the
Past and Our Obligations to the Future,"
No more appropriate, nor helpful ad-
dress could have been given And the
Presbyterial is trail thankful to him for
his kindness in coming to help.
The financial side was meet encourag-

Columbia, and supporting two native
preachers as was decided after last year,
there still remained, 278 in the treasury.
