Perth turns down
grant request from
Charolais • group

A request for funding from
the Ontario Charolais (cattle)
Association was turned down
by council at its meeting last
Tuesday on the grounds that
other cattlemen's associ-
ations had been refused
money in the past.
The money would have
-been used to help promote
Charolais cattle in the local
arta, a letter from the associ-
ation said. , •
A request from the Perth
County 4-H Club Leaden
Association for the next
installment of a grant ap-
proved earlier in the year
was accepted by council.
The 441 leaders have al-
ready received the first S300
of the grant council was told.
The request was for the next
$300 plus a S500 travel grant.

"the economic climate"
according to a report from
council's Social Services
committee,
"There just aren't the
