Following the sale of the items on the bake table lunch was served and the penny sale draw took place while the ladies enjoyed their tea. FINSCO MYSTERY TOUR MEMORIES - Memories of yesteryear were discussed by Gerald Groothius (left) and John Van Loon during their visit to the Huron County Museum, Goderich, June 13. The visit was part of the Seaforth Horticultural Society's annual Mystery Tour that ended with dinner and a business meeting in Holmesville. Oxford photo. "Mystery tour" takes horticultural society on a whirl The Seaforth Horticultural Society enjoyed a mystery tour and dinner meeting on Wednesday, June 13. Thirty members travelled to Goderich where they toured the Huron County Pioneer Museum. They then drove to the White Car- nation for a delicious ham and roast beef dinner. President Nancy Kale chaired the meeting , and Gerald Groothius reported on a very successful Plant Sale and thanked his committee. Mary McLeod announced that the boxes and baskets had been planted and placed on Main St. The Library beds will be completed when, the tulips have died down. Yearbook costs for 1991 were discussed and will be finalized at a Directors Meeting. Trillium pins were again offered for sale. Members of the Society are invited to attend a seminar on composting Seekers have bushels of fun The fourth 4-H meeting of the The members then had bushels of Seaforth Safety Seekers was held on fun. They all stood in a basket of Friday, June 15, 1990, at the home grain and wiggled their feet. A board was then placed on the grain, and the members stood on the board. They observed that with the board they did not sink. The next meeting will be held on July 6, at the Fire Hall at 1:00 p.m. of Gerda Vanden Hoven. The meeting opened with the 4-H pledge, and twelve members answered the roll call. The book covers were then handed out. Every member received booklets from Milton J. Dietz. Cromarty women learn about the Phillipines Grace Kerslake presided for the June meeting of the Marian Ritchie W.M.S. on Tuesday evening. The meeting opened with the hymn "The Great Physician." Joy Scott gave the meditation and scripture based on the story of The Good Samaritan from Luke 10:25-37. The study book chapter, The Church and the Poor, was, taken by Ruth Laing, in the form of a skit where mem- bers of a Filipino study group dis- cussed the story of the good Samaritan as it applied to them. Assisting were Peggy Kerlake as Mang Jose, Jean Carey as Maglay, Roberta Templeman as Auring, Doris Miller as Fe, Mary Elliott as Perla and Joy Scott as Charita. They concluded that help could be given one-on-one; people should stand together to help the unfor- tunate and everyone should work together to remedy the cause of problems. The Filipino song,'Whatever you did to the least of my brethren" was played on the tape player. For the programme number, Doris Miller gave a humorous reading, Remember. During the business there was some discussion regar- ding the possiblility of having a garage sale in the fall. Ten members answered the roll call with the name of a product grown in the Philippines and the meeting closed with the hymn,"All Things Bright and Beautiful,' and the Lord's Prayer. Keep in mind that the South Hib- bert Athletic Association is having a Chicken B.B.Q. on Thursday, July 12 from 5-8 p.m. at the Cromarty Ball Park. The Pineridge B.B.Q Company is catering.
