December 31, 1990. These
municipalities may not be able to
get a further emergency certificate
when the current one expires, but
all have made financial
contributions to the site's equipment
and operation.
Only Goderich Twp., Clinton and
Goderich are entitled by law to use
the site after the certificate expires.
An amendment to the waste
disposal site agreement has been
proposed that will make the board
responsible for the waste from the
five emergency -using
municipalities, and to make arran-
gements to have the waste disposed
of. Most of the 'boards member
municipalities have signed the
amendment, except Goderich which
has yet to deal with it in committee,
and Clinton.
"It basically says we're all in this
together," said board secretary
Larry McCabe, administrator for
The Town of Goderich. "Those
municipalities not in the original
agreement want protection."
"Clinton would want the same
thing," said Goderich Twp. Reeve
Grant Stirling at the board's
meeting June 14. Stirling is also
