The Bears defeated daderich
Fire 2-1 in the cbaMpionship;game
after beating Goderich Kirkey's 2-1
and the Clinton Selects 6-2 earlier
in the day.
In the opening' game against
Kirkey's, the Bears scored first m
the top of the third wining A "boort
ing triple to left -centre by Terry.
Gray, a ground out to second. by
Dave Garrick to score' Gray, a
single by Bill Dale, and another
long triple by Rick Dale plated all
the runs necessary for -the win.
Kirkey's made a valiant effort in.
the bottom of the seventh inning to
score one run and have the dying
run at third, but Leonherdt' was
equal to the task, and a strike -out
and, ground -out ended the game. In
all, Leonhardt allowed only four
hits while striking out ten for the
win.
In the secondgame against Clin-
ton, the Bears bounced back from
a 2-1 deficit to score four runs in
the top of the sixth and one -in the
seventh for a 6-2 victory. The big
play of the sixth was a double by
Bill Dale with the bases loaded
which along with a two -base error
by the centre -fielder, allowed the

mark with two wins
With two wins and no loses
recorded in the last week; the St.
Columban minor Squirt II team is
making their mark early in the
season.
The Squirt II -squad hosted Col-
dstream on Thursday evening at
the Dublin playing fields, and sent
them. ,packing with a decisive 6-0
win. -The team played a good,
steady game, with strong work by
the forwards. 'The Coldstream
defensive litre and goalie had a
busy night, but the St. Columban
offence proved too much to handle.

and Jason Anstett (2) while Darrell
Schoonderwoerd had a hat -trick for
his evening's work. St. Columban
goalie Brad Murray added another
shutout to his record.
Earlier, the team had travelled
to Nairn on May 24 to meet the
Nairn Squirts and played a hard
game. Nairn had most of the play

Snoopyschool is for children ages 3
to 5 years. Playschool is for
