In the opening' game against Kirkey's, the Bears scored first m the top of the third wining A "boort ing triple to left -centre by Terry. Gray, a ground out to second. by Dave Garrick to score' Gray, a single by Bill Dale, and another long triple by Rick Dale plated all the runs necessary for -the win. Kirkey's made a valiant effort in. the bottom of the seventh inning to score one run and have the dying run at third, but Leonherdt' was equal to the task, and a strike -out and, ground -out ended the game. In all, Leonhardt allowed only four hits while striking out ten for the win. In the secondgame against Clin- ton, the Bears bounced back from a 2-1 deficit to score four runs in the top of the sixth and one -in the seventh for a 6-2 victory.
