On the night of the car accident,
Bruce was not expected to live. For-
tunately, a specially equipped and
stiffed trauma unit was ready and •
standing by at a nearby hospital.

beat the odds and he has returned'

out to bowling
season opener
The Seaforth Lawn BOwlitig Club opened
their bowling season on Monday, May 21
with afternoon bowling followed by a pot
luck supper, and bowling or cards again
the evening. There were twenty-eight
bowlers present in the afternoon and some
fifty members for supper making it a most
successful opening day. President Jack
Muir welcomed all And informed members
that the next pot luck supper will be June
19, due to the Senior Games .finals being
held in Stratford on June 25 and 26. The
first tournaments in Seaforth will be Men's
Pairs, June 13 at 10:30 a.m.- and Ladies
Pairs, June 14 at 10:30 a.m.
Winners of cards and euchre were:
Ladies high -Rose Ryan; Lone Hands -
Edith McMillan; Consolation - Jessie
Hffien; Men's High - Agnes Eyre (played
-as .a man); Lone Hands - Edith Dunlop;
• Consolation - Effie Stephenson. Bridge high
score Ken Lingelbach,while Alice Reid
held low score.
• Neil and Edna Bell have returned from
a pleasant holiday in Holland and other
places in Europe.
• Bowling for the Senior Games was held
May 25 at 10:30 a.m. with 21 seniors par-
ticipating. 'The winning team were Neil
Bell (skip) Jean Lunn (vice) and Dorothy
McCluski (lead). Good bowling to all in the
Senior Games at Stratford on May 25.
There will be afternoon bowling for the
ladies, or any men wishing to bowl also,
Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Monday
evening is men's night while Tuesday and
Thursday evening will be jitney bowling.
Please have your name in by 7 p.m. for
the draw.
The property committee have been work-
ing on the greens an a new ceiling has
been installed in the club house sun porch.
New patio stones have been laid and two
more trees planted.
The club extends a welcome to anyone
wishing to try lawn bowling and we are
always looking for new members.
The Seaforth Lawn Bowling Greens and
the Club's hospitality is well known
throughout Ontario and, with the help of
our members and local sponsors
throughout the summer,,,our tournaments
are well attended and make for a good
lawn bowling season.
