Jean Carey was in charge of the worship
service at the May meeting of the Marian
Ritchie W.M.S. on Tuesday evening., She
read scripture from Acts 9:36-42, and gave
an. interesting meditation on the: life . of
Dorcas, showing; how she gave of herself
and her wealth for her Lord. •
Ruth Laing presided for the
meeting,opening with the words of the
hymn, "We Love the_Wonderful Stories the
Holy Scriptures Tell." Twelve members
answered the roll call with an item about
the Bible Society. Mary Elliott gave a
humorous reading, "Decorating Decorum".
During the business, the Presbyterial
June Conference was announced for June
5 at 6:45, beginning with a cold buffet sup-
per. Tice theme for the meeting, to be held
in Motherwell-Avonbank Church, is Filipino
Fiesta. Suggestions were given for raising
funds to meet the W.M.S. allocation for
1990.
An invitation 40 attend the 100th,anniver-
sary,d'Ilen.sall P.C.W. on'June 4rat,8 p.m.
was received.
Following the meeting a silent auction of
baking, plants, crafts and other items was
held realizing over one hundred dollars.

Rev. Jesse Doyon of Thamesville United
Church is Fullerton, was our guest
Minister at the Hensall United Church this
past Sunday. Rev. Doug Wright preached
in Fullerton. Rev. Doyon was introduced to
the Hensel] congregation by Glenn
Hayter.
During the "Children's Time" Rev.
Doyon showed the children how to fold a
piece of paper into the shape of an
airplane. He then cut the airplane in half
and from the pieces of paper made the
word "love" and the symbol of the cross.
Re. Doyon's message was entitled "We
Are Created To Be One." Following the
sermon, Rev. Doyon played the guitar and
with the help of two of his children sang
a song entitled "We Are Created To Be
One". We thank Rev. Doyon and his fami-
ly for sharing thdlr musical talents with
us.
A congregational medtihg to discuss a
change in the 1990 budget will take place
immediately after the worship service on
Sunday, June 3rd.
The Annual Hensall Yard Sale is Satur-
day, May 26th. The church will be setting
up a sale table Bring your saleable items
to the church any time. Bake table items
should be brought on the morning of the
sale.

WILLIAM FLANNERY
William Sylvester Flannery of Oshewa,
and formerly of Seaforth and Tuckersmith
Township, died on Tuesday, May 15 at the
Oshawa General Hospital. He was 89.
Born in Tuckersrnith Township on July 7,
1900, he was a son of the late William
Flannery and the former Ellen O'Rourke.
Mr. Flannery is survived by, nieces Wan-
da °Were of Oshawa and Lynn Newman
of Ottawa. He was predeceased by sisters
Aileen LaBelle and Florence Flannery and
by a brother, Joseph Flannery.
