The Staff No. 1 "Bouncy Breadmakers"
held their sixth meeting and Breadfair on
April 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Family Life
Centre, Hibbert United Church. All
members and their Moms played "Win,
Lose er Draw", led by our youth leader,
Joan Kerslake. They then feasted on the
breads which the members had made
themselves. A special thank you, to club
leader, Doris Jefferyand to Freda
Kerslake and Ann Marie Allen for helping
with the club. Also thanks to Youth Leader
Joan Kerslake. A pleasant evening was en-
joyed by all present. Apologies go out for
mis-naming the youth leader in our
previous report.
The executive of the Perth County
Women's Institute Rally met recently at
the home of Roberta Templeman. Plans
were finalized for the Fall Rally on Oc-
tober 18, hosted this year by Perth Centre
District. Perth North District is responsi-
ble for the program and Perth South
District for the registration and courtesy.
Rob & Bev Templeman and family
visited recently with Carol Stewart and
Jane Robinson,_ Kitchener. 4.
When tate Hibbert United Church Women
met on May 9, Margaret Christie and An-
nie Norris were in charge of the worship
service, 'which continued a study of
Multiculturism. To deal with Muslim
development in Edmonton, they used a
new 'video, "A Tale of Two Mosques"
which demonstrated the struggle of im-
migrant people to continue maintaining the
high ideals of their culture in this western
society. They are not unlike us,, hoping to
instil Christian ideals in our youth.
Twenty-five thousand Muslims in Edmon-
ton foster their culture in their second
mosque, which offers facilities for all
family-oriented activities. Marion
McCaughey was pianist for hymn singing,
and Mary F. Dow for the sing -song at the
close of the worship.
Ilia Barker chaired the business part of
the meeting, during which Verle Mahon
reported on the April Event at Kirkton
Community Centre. Since June 13 is the
occasion of Hibbert United Church's
Strawberry Supper, they declined with
regret an invitation to. St. Columban for
their social. Matters dealing with the sup-
per were discussed.
Campsite Experience is June 11, at
Bimini, when David Manning of Paris will
speak on the subject "Celebrating the Cir.
cle."
Dorothy Dow is planning the next
gathering for June 27. Where? Ask!
Ilia closed the meeting w%th twd' thought
provoking poems "Pioneer Mothers".
Margaret Daynard corfduhted a plant ex-
change.' Barb Pullman and Esther Smile
provided lunch and coffee for a social
hour.
