After they had eaten their lunches` the

things left their lunch. This list in-
clided plastic} sandwich hags, drinking
bores, pop cans, :unrecyclable plastic con-
tatners.' and fruit peelings. Next the
children counted the good things.ieft from
their °lunches, including thermoses,
unrecyclable containers and leftover food.

,The restlllts were that, most lunches had
cut down on the bad things, and some
children had no litter at all. They discuss-
ed composting for their fruit peelings, sav-
..ingieftover -food for snack and the benefits
of reducing litter.

Hugh Benninger of Maplewood Manor in
Seaforth celebrated his 80th birthday on
Tuesday, April 10. Joining Hugh and his

Our weekly observations on the SEEDS
experiment shows that now 37 out of the 59
seeds are grotbing from earth. The space
seeds have 46 out of the 59 seeds growing.
The tallest plants are about 4-5 cm in
height. Both the space and earth seeds are
doing well.
TRACK AND FIELD
Track and field is starting at HCS. Mrs.
Ryckman is getting all those interested, in
shape for our school meet, which will be
held in mid-May.
