Silvertie Clothing ng Company frac Toronto.. night this moatl'i will feature the movie "Cocoon'' starring Don Ameche, Hume Cronyn, Jessiica;Tandy and Maureen Stapleton. Easter was very quiet at the Manor as most of the residents were blessed with family outings for the day. With the good weather approaching, residents and staff are all looking forward to some outings. It would be greatly ap- preciated if friends and family could volunteer to drive out to make some of these outings possible. He gets a helping hand here from Silvert's representative Maria Tassone, Elliott photo. Raisin Scones tempted by Queensway residents Hello! Welcome to Queensway News! Fun and Fitness perked everyone up on Monday • afternoon. Following exercises, we sang several of our spring songs. We are perfecting "April Showers”, the newest ad- dition �: -',_h ��-.-:1.� .—�- �:•• a , our repertoire. in the evening we played Bingo with the Heiman Presbyterian la ,i 'es. On Tuesday, residents took Communion with Reverend Wright of the Hensall United Church. We thank Reverend Wright and volunteers of his church for providing this special worship service. The Wednesday afternoon Baking Club w 'pped up a batch of delicious raisin scones. The tempting aroma wafting down the hallways never fails to draw willing samplers. We all enjoyed two informative films Thurs u : y evening. "Quiltirsg, Patterns of Love" which focused on the art of quilting and "Apple Dolls," about the almost lost art of creating apple dolls. Several residents participated at games hour on Friday afternoon. We appreciated the vo]Innteers who provided assistance at each table. Everyone had an enjoyable afternoon. We welcome Mrs. Edith Befll to Queensway. Coming events at Queensway are April 26 at 7 pm, our monthly Birthday Party with Marie Flynn and Stepdancers. May 13 from 2 to 4 pin is our Mother's Day Tea. Members of the Master Gardeners, Audrey Stovel and Ray Wilhelm of Strat- Inside & Out.. •Paint •Cleaning Supplies •Handyman Tools • Lawnmowers •Garden Tools *Fertilizer •Ladders •Light Fixtures *Electrical & Plumbing Supplies Wheel Into Summer On A VAWIBONDU) ford, were the guests. Their presentation explained the necessary steps that they Jae& taken to ;:bet ome, members of their organization, ,which works under the, um- brella of O.M.A.F. and the Ontario Hor- ticultural Society. As well, they dealt with a wide range of topics which included site, soil, tools, plan- ting, succession cropping, interplanting, companion planting and container use. A question period yielded valuable hints from guests and audience members. It was an evening where everyone learned something, and especially how to use newspapers for seedlings. Verle Mahon thanked our guests and presented them with a gift. Florence McPhail organized the pro- gramme and was assisted by Mary Dow, Barb Pullman and the United Church Women's Social Committee. A reminder: Conference cookies, May 1; April event in Kirkton, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. IINTENDE rY FOR LAST WEEK There was a good crowd in attendance for the Good Fri . : y service at the Hibbert United Church, when members from both Hibbert United and Cromarty Presbyterian participated in a joint service of worship. Scripture readings were given from the Books of Matthew, Luke and John, telling the Easter story. Each scripture reading was followed by Refllections. Joyce Fell delighted everyone with a solo, "Be thou with me", accompanied on the organ by Mary Dow. She also accom- panied the joint choir which sang "All in an April evening". Doris Miller and Loreen Hamilton have returned from a five-day bus tour to Nashville over the holiday weekend. Family members spent Easter Sunday with John and Roberta Templeman. The by-laws of Seaforth Community Hospital provide that the Board of Governors shall include 12 trustees to be elected by members of the hospital corporation. These members may be elected for 3 year terms and any other vacancies may be filled. By resolution of the Board the annual membership fee has been established at two dollars. Membership fees must be paid before 4:30 o'clock p.m. May 28, 1990. No membership sold after that time, on that date, will entitle the purchaser to a vote at this Annual Meeting.
