Scott was noticed by the eagle eye of the Canucks' scouts at the C.U.A.A. (Canadian University Athletic Association) hockey finals in Toronto recently, and was sent an invite to the Vancouver training camp, all expenses paid, in September. Canuck brass got in touch with Scott late last week, let- ting him know ,that they were heading to Waterloo to speak to Scott in person. "He thought he'd never get a phone call from the N.H.L.," his mother Karen Driscoll said, a little bit surprised herself. Scott, a formidable and talented all-star player With the Western Junior `B' St. Mary's Lincolns up until this year, had been aiming for a career as an N.H.L. of- ficial and had actually been anticipating word from the O.H.A. concerning a linesman position with the Junior 'A' league for the upcoming season. "They said they like his size (six -four, 260 pounds) and they liked the way he skated," Mrs. Driscoll added. Scott Driscoll could not be reached for comment before the Canucks' meeting, as Ask me...
