Students at St. Patrick's Separate School in Dublin were treated to a rather unusual guest Thursday afternoon. John, one of the bible's 12 apostles, dropped by to give a speech. Well, it wasn't the real John, but rather David Morris, an actor from Toronto who travels frotnschool to school giving educa- tional presentations while acting like biblical characters. It was a unique way for the students to learn religious history as Morris, dressed in traditional costume, kept the students from grades four to eight entertained for two hours; a difficult task considering it GARTH MICHAEL HENDERSON HARGREAVES Garth Michael Henderson Hargreaves, formerly of Brucefield, died Friday, April 13, 1990 at the Westland Medical Center in Michigan. He was 30. He is survived by his parents, Victor and Shirley (Henderson) Hargreaves of Baucefleld; brothers, Greg and his wife Judy of RR 2 Hensall, and Brad and his wife Teresa of Kitchener; and a sister, Brenda -Ann and her husband Rob Snell of Exeter. Also surviving are; grandparents Zoe and Alex Jeffries of Ingersol; nieces and nephews, Gavin, Hayley, Daniel and Timothy Snell, and Jennifer, Jodi, Serena andanuteri Hina Hargreaves; and several aunts Family visitation was conducted Sunday in the Hensel chapel of Michael P. O'Con- nor Mineral Homes. Public visitation was o Brucefield United Church on Monday, April 16, when a funeral service was also conducted. Interment followed in Baird's Cemetery. He was 68. Mr. Murray was born in Kinkora on Oc- tober 22, 1921, the son of the late Michael . Murray and, the former Julia Linane. He was a member of the St. James Roman Catholic Church and had been a transport driver for Gay Lea foods prior to his retirement. He is survived by his wife, the former Marie Hickey; a daughter Janice, at home; sons Patrick, at home and Danny and wife Sharon, of Kin ,re; grandchildren Michael, Shannon and Brendan of Kintore; and a brother, Joe, of Clinton. Mr. Murray was predeceased by a son, Michael, and a brother, Kenneth. Friends were received at the Ball - Falconer Funeral Home, Seaforth, on Thursday with funeral services held Friday morning at the St. James' Roman Catholic Church, Reverend Charles Caruana of- ficiating Pallbearers were Danny, Patrick and Michael Murray, Larry Dolmmage, Jim May and Jim Nash. "My education is in theatre," he says with a smile, "but I have a B.S. in history." I OBITUARIES JOHANNA M. SCHOONDERWOERD Johanna M. Schoonderwoerd of RR 3 Mitchell, died at the Stratford General Hospital on Sunday, April 15, 1990. She was The former Johanna Marie VandenBerg, she was born in Holland on May 14, 1904, a daughter of the late Cornelis VandenBerg and the former Johanna Wansinck. On August 7, 1931, she was married to Jacobus Schoonderwoerd who predeceased her in 1958. The couple came to Canada from Holland in 1951 and settled in the Kinkora area. They had farmed in Hibbert Township since 1952. Mrs. Schoonderwoerd was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Dublin, and was a member of the Catholic Women's League of the parish. ere is survived by four ,daughters, Joan ,nderwoerd of RR 3 Mitchell,''Angeline her husband Roy Swart of RR 4 Seaforth, Maria and her husband Bruno Sinosic of London, and Martha and her husband Dick Moons of RR 5 Watford; and six sons, Neil and his wife Josephine of RR 1 Sebringville, ' John and his wife Cecilia of RR 1 Mitchell, Bill and his wife Joan of Clinton, Tom and his wife Elly of RR 2 Dublin,, Clem and his wife Jo -Anne of Mitchell and Luke and his wife Mary of RR 3 Mitchell. Also surviving are 43 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Mrs. Schoonder- woerd was predeceased by one son Jack and his wife Jane and their son Jinn (1975), grandson Jeffrey Schoonderwoerd (1976); and one brother and three sisters. Friends will be received at the Lockhart Funeral Home in Mitchell today (Wednes- day) between 2 and 4 p.m. and 7 and 9 p.m. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Dublin on Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Reverend J.J. Carrigan as celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family. He says he visits a school a day, and sometimes two. "I love working with the kids," he says, "and it pays the rent on a regular basis." She was 76.
