first place if the top two teams split their
games, but it was notto be. Don Deighton

had 244/625, John Aubin added a 211 game,

1 ringette squad wins
The Seaforth I Novice ringette team
travelled to London this past weekend to
participate in the Regionals Tournament,
and came home the bronze medal winners
in the "C" division.
The team worked hard, but got off to a
slow start with a loss Firday evening
against Chatham. Saturday morning,
however, all girls were keen and the team
recorded a 9-3 victory over London.
Excellent passing by Janelle Wood,
Jessica Finlayson and Claire Eckert enabl-
ed goals to be scored by Denise DeJong,
Abby Dietz, Katie Murray and Denise
O'Reilly. Hard work at defensive play by
Nicole Munro, Melissa Etue, Denise O'Reil-
ly and Marsha Denys helped goalie Kelly
Murray prevent too many goals.
After such a successful game the spirit
was high, and the girls returned for the
afternoon game against Kitchener feeling
good. This game ended in a 4-4 tie.
Scoring for Seaforth were; Denise De -
Jong with three goals and Denise O'Reil-
ly with one goal. All girls put their best ef-
fort and skill into this game.
With the points from these three games,
the Seaforth team was eligible to play for
the bronze medal. That game was against
Forest, and was decided only in the final
seconds.
With' two players in the penalty box, and
only 'one goal ahead, things looked bad for
Seaforth. However, goalie Kelly Murray
made two great saves before Denise
O'Reilly got the ring out and down ice.
The final score was 10-9 in Seaforth's
favor.
Scoring for Seaforth in this game were;
Abby Dietz, Denise DeJong, Denise O'Reil-

Petites win ii. ronze edal
The Seaforth Petites participated in the
Western Regional Ringette Championships
on the weekend, and came away the
bronze medal winner.
Seaforth took on Lambeth in the first
game and the two teams finished in a 5-5
tie.
Scoring for Seaforth were: Kathy
Devereaux with two, and Kelly Devereaux,
Anna Mailloux and Jane Crowley each
with one. Assists went to Kelly Devereaux
with two, and Kathy Devereaux and Krlssy
Holland each with one.
In game two Seaforth took on St.
Thomas, and beat them 3-2.
Scoring for Seaforth were; Jane Crowley
with two, and Anna Mailloux with one.
Assists went to Erin Siemon and Cara
Spittal.
The third game of the tournament was
played against Forest, and despite losing
to this team in regular season play,
Seaforth was able to defeat them 5-4 when
it counted most.
Goals were scored by Kathy Devereaux
with two, and Anna Mailloux, Krissy
Holland and Jane Crowley each with one.
Assists went to Kelly Devereaux, Erin
Siemon and Cara Spittal.
The win put Seaforth into the finals
where they came up against Dorchester. A
win in this game would mean a go at the
gold medal, a loss would mean a go for
the bronze.
Dorchester proved to be a tough team.
They played zone well, were big and
strong, and defeated Seaforth easily by a
5-0 score. The loss meant Seaforth played
Sunday morning against St. Marys.
Again the Seaforth team had not beaten
this team in regular season play, but came
through when they had to. Seaforth down-
ed St. Marys 6-4 and won the bronze
medal.
Scoring for Seaforth were; Kathy
Devereaux with two, and Krissy Holland,
Anna Mailloux, Erin Siemon and Jane
Crowley each with one. Assisttlk. went to
Betty Little, Amy Siemon and Krissy
Holland each with two, and Kelly
Devereaux with one.
Without an excellent defense, which con-
sisted of Betty Little, Amy Siemon, Cara
Spittal, Sandee Ryan and Sheri -Lynn,
superb goaltending by Julie Agar, and a
fine team effort by all, the bronze medal
would not have been.
Congratulations team.

played extremely well to end the season
with a big win. '
The coaching staff is very proud of the
team and how well its members worked
together all season.
