day,'

against'.. Dorchester at. -8, a.m Dorchester
opened the scoring which seemed to be the
"Wake-up Call" the girls needed. Melissa
Ibertson scored on an assist from Kim
Devereaux to tie the score. Dorchester rep-
sgnded' with another but .it was to be their
lost. Melissa scored again, this time
unassisted. Cathy Coyne fired in the go-
ahead goal on a pass from Melissa 'and
Julie -Ann Crowley and Jenny. DelVecchio
worked the ring in to Katie Holland who
scored Seaforth's fourth and final goal. Ex-
citement! This "C" team had defeated a •
"B" team, 4-2..
The second game was a different story.
The London team was the best of the
Novice players in the city and they had
played in Petite all season. Although the
score was very lop -sided, 15-2, Seaforth
Played hard land with spirit. Goalie Karen
Del Vecchio played an excellent game
Stopping more shots than she had ever
thought possible. Melissa scored both of
Seaforth's goals with Jenny, Kim and
Julie -Ann each credited with assists.
This loss did not dampen Seaforth's en-
thusiasm. They had one more game to
play and play they did! The girls displayed
excellence both offensively and defensive-
ly against a fine Waterloo squad who was
just as determined to win.
Waterloo opened the scoring but Julie -
Ann put one in the net a minute later with
an assist .going to Kendall Schenk.
Waterloo responded with two more before
Melissa scared one from Katie Holland and
Julie-At{in and another from Cathy Coyne
and Michele Tyndall to end the first period
in a tie.
. Cathy opened the scoring in the second
period with help from Tricia Jansen and
Cheryl Workman. Waterloo gained the tie
and then went ahead by one. Melissa
Robertson regained the tie at 3:38 assisted
by Cathy Coyne and Julie -Ann Crowley and
the three girls worked the. play a second
tjune at 2:23, when Melissa fired in another.
With 40 seconds on the clock, Waterloo tied
it up. One final time, Melissa found the
target, asiCathy Coyne and'dl iChele. Tyndall,
drove the ring into her- witla'bnly 27'
seconds remaining. However, Waterloo was
not ready to concede. With only seven
seconds left, the Seaforth goalie, Karen Del
Vecchio, made another outstanding save to
hold the 7-6 lead. A second victory!
The girls then advanced to the Gold -
with .assists going to :Julie- t rowley,
ic,. aoljand, and Jenny Del Veehio. i

St. James Tigers hold bowling lead
After three weeks of playoffs the Tigers
hang onto the lead with top scorers George
Love 263 - 667, Dave Moody 273 - 710 and
Janice Morris 219 - 483.
The Leopards are in second place with
Carol Johnston 259 - 669 and Pat Ryan 205
593 in top place in the scoring
department.
Francis Feeney led the Kangaroos into
third place with a 259 - 647 followed by
Rob Taylor 274 - 636.
The Pythons are in fourth place led this

Senior bowlers end season with fin day
Seniors Alley 1 owling League concluded
the season with a fun day of high and low
average bowlers in teams.
Top team for the day was Watson Reid
and Agnes Lammerant with a 1158 total.
Second was Mary Finlayson and Katie
Phillips with 1039 and third was Bert
Walters and Hazel McGonigle with 1008.
Close in fourth spot were Bill Harris and
Hazel McNaughton with 1002.
There was a great deal of cheering on
lane one as Hazel McNaughton bowled one
of her best games ever. High single
bowlers for the day were Bill Harris with
a 258 and Watson Reid a 257. Annie
Malcolm, who has bowled steady all
season, came through with a 241 and Olave
Little had a 226. Katie Phillips also bowl-
ed a good third game on Friday to help
her partner Mary Finlayson come up with
their team total. Campbell Wey, who bowl-
ed over a 300 game three weeks ago, found
the lanes tricky for him and partner Gor-
don Papple as they were the low bowlers.
This was a fun day with hasty snacks
available for all and free coffee.
Don't forget the banquet at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday evening April 12 at Egmondville
