vs. sick animals
$,eHfclreh Precious Pets held their fifth
meeting at Garda Vanden Hoven'$ home
on March 23 at 7 p.m.
Michelle Etue, vice president, opened the

meeting and 12 members answered the roll
with the name of their veterinarians.
The skit for achievement night was
discussed and will be practised at the next
meeting The club got a 4-H mug to give
to Dr. Nulin in appreciation for his in-
teresting tour of the vet clinic. The leader
checked books for home assignments and
again discussed special projects.
The members then took time to do the
animal playgrounds in their member's
books. After discussing these they discuss-
ed a happy, healthy pet as well as signs of
a pet being sick. Vaccinations are preven-
tative health care. Parasites live on their
host either internally or externally. Pet
safety was discussed. Everyone did the
quiz page in the book to be aware of
dangers for pets around the home. In case
of an emergency proper care must be
given.
After the review questions were
answered the meeting was adjourned. The
next meeting will be April 3 at 7 p.m.

The following is a letter from the
McLachlan family to all those who haver
given their assis :nce following Glen's
accident:
Glen, Sandra, John, Joan, Jennifer,
Lori, Robbie and Little Katie wish to ex-
press to you their heartfelt thanks.
We have learned the ultimate joy that
comes with living in a small rur com-
munity. The true neighborly love has
been shown not only from friends in the
Vanastra Lions, Vanastra Curling Club,
day care, ball clubs, but also churches in
Clinton, Egmondville, Kirkton, and old
and new friends from Huron, Perth and
Middlesex Counties.
A special thank -you goes out to those
friends who spent a lot of time on special
projects like the Hayfield Boats Job, the
McLean Log Cabin Ori 1, 'the canvas of
EgmondvMe United Church, the Benefit
Dance and the Blyth Broomball Night,
and all other projects.
Thank -you to my family and friends for
the visits to Parkwood in London and for
getting the house renovations completed.
Very special thanks to the rescue crew
at the accident site, ambulance drivers,
and the staff at Clinton, Victoria and
Parkwood Hospitals for their exceptional
care.
The kind of love and caring that was
expressed was special and a reflection of
this community.
Thank -you.
Glen "Tractor" McLachlan Family.
