Bill Roberton, however, has been seen with his golf magazine under his arm, so that's a sure sign it's time to hang up the broom and clean up the clubs. Steve Dolmage, son of Neil and Loretta, travelled to Kamloops, British Columbia this past weekend to curl in the finals for the college curling championships. Ile and his teammates from Fanshawe College won the Ontario College Athletic Associa- tion Provincial play finals on March 11. Despite the absence of curlers due to the lure of sun and sand, the ladies completed their last draw of the season. Joan Beuer• man, with the help of Nancy Dearing, Lin- da Gingerich and "not so much help" Jean Ross, wonthat draw. The Slo Pitch 'spiel was held on Satur- day with four sheets filled for two draws. The "Winthrop Warriors", Tom Garrett, Gordon ,Pryce, Ed Salvrda and Dave Leolihardt, won the men's event. The "Bosley Bruisers" Debbie Campbell, Ann Bosman, Jane Hoggart and Theresa Finlayson were the ladies champs. A few aching muscles and sore bones were notic- ed on Sunday. The "Spring Fling", the final event of the curling club, will be held on Saturday, March 31. There will be a garage and bake sale in the morning, curling in the afternoon, and a steak dinner and madcap entertainment by local entertainers in the evening. Talent scouts, take note! Race close In senior ladies bowling Thirty one bowlers were on hand for Seniors bowling on Friday afternoon. Anne Wood and Beryl Reid were close competitors for high triple with Anne Wood having a 528 and Beryl a 524. Beryl had the high single of 192 with Dorothy McCuskie close by with a 191. For the men Don Wood led the way with a 594, with Watson Reid not far behind with a 575 triple and high single of the day a 238. Gordon Papple and Isabel Gardiner again bowled well over their averages for the day. Lucky draw winners were Campbell Wey, Hazel McNaughton and Stanley HiIlien. Please note the banquet t : to is changed to Thursday April 12 at 7 pm. at Egmond- vine United Church. This Friday will be the last week of the regular schedule with the next Friday a fun day of bowling.
