With Irish music running through the
halls,- Manor residents were busy Monday
morning working at their rug hookings.
Thanks to volunteers Hazel McGonigle and
Eva McCartney for all their help.
Residents gathered with callers Pat and
Wendy Gridzak Monday afternoon for
Bingo. Big winners included: Dennis
Arney, Wilma Brill, Maxine Elliott,
Margaret Haase, Jennie Hildebrand, Mary
Essery, Elmer Bakscy, Dave Netzke,
Mamie Ross and Winn McLean. Con-
gratulations to all. Anne Downey, Greta
Kerr and Mary Nolan assisted at the
tables.
Tuesday norning residents limbered up
with some exercises. In the afternoon they
had their first "Let it Shine" shoe shine.
Many thanks to all the staff and residents
for their help.
The baking ladies and gentlemen got
together Wednesday morning to create
some St. Patrick's Day treats.
Reverend James Sloan of First
Presbyterian Church led the weekly church
service on Wednesday. Henrietta Brown
accompanied the hymns on the piano.
The volunteer euchre Was held on Thurs-
day afternoon. Winners were: Mens high,
Frank Smale; Womens high, Marguerite
Shill; mens low, Keith Herman; mens low,
Jennie Hildeband, and lone hands, Mamie
Ross. Thanks to Greta Kerr for the tasty
treats, Marjorie Maloney for the prizes and
Anne Downey and Mary Nolan for helping
at the tables.
Ice cream with creme de menthe sauce
was served at Triva and Word Games on
Friday afternoon. Everyone did well at the
Irish trivia.
The week was topped off with a St.
Patrick's Day Party on Saturday. Thanks
to everyone for sporting their best green.
Winners of the "Who's Wearing the Most
Green" contest were: Frank O'Smale,
Mabel O'Handy, and Mary O'Nesbitt. Door
prize winners were: Mamie O'Ross, Lorne
O'Lawson, and Lenny O'Caza. Thanks to
Brian Melady for his Irish entertaining.
Get well wishes are extended to Edith
Jessome.
Happy birthday greetings are extended
to Elmina Kemp on March 25, and Marie
Goovaerts and Edith Jessome on March 27.
Gladys Van Egmond and Elgin Nott will
be at the Manor's March Birthday Party
on March 23 at 2 p.m. Come on out for a
dance.

The ACW Minutes were read and the
following reports given: The Shrove Tues-
day Pancake Supper was a. .great success;
Peg Coombs attended the World Day of
Prayer on behalf of the women of the
ACW; and a letter was read from St.
Monica's House thanking the ACW
members for their Christmas presents to
the residence.
Ladies will be catering to the Iioness
Banquet to be held on April 17. Anyone
wishing to help with this project please
call Peg Coombs Who is convening the
meal.

The children of St. Thomas will be mak-
ing a special Lenten tree, "A Butterfly
Tree". This activity will continue .
throughout the Lenten season.
A Sunrise Breakfast is to be held on Sun
day, April 1, 1990 at 9 o'clock preceding
the regular church service. All members of
the parish are invited to attend. The Sun-
day School teachers will be the "chief
cooks and bottle washers" for this meal.
Pancakes and sausages will be the main
feature. Any contributions donated to this
breakfast will be put to future projects for
the Sunday School.

terested in getting together to make small
crafts or in donating any materials for the
children's table at the Christmas Bazaar,

Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Smith have return-
ed from a holidy in Florida.
Cranbrook "Polite Delights" 4-H Club
had an outing on March 14 beginning in
the morning at Betts Funeral Home,
Brussels, where they veiwed two films and
toured the various rooms. At noon they ate
in the dining room at the Brussels Hotel to
practice what was learned about
restaurant etiquette. In the afternoon hey
helped with the Cranbrook Women's In-
stitute birthday party at the Callander
Nursing Home by providing the
entertainment.
On Sunday, March 18 they met at the
Pizza Delight in Listowel for supper. They
then went bowling in Molesworth. They
also completed their arrangements for
Achievement Night to be held in Grey Cen-
tral School, Ethel, at 7:30 p.m. Monday,
April 23.
WATCH CURLING
On Saturday March 17 kathy Workman
and Marlene Robertson were in Welland
attending the Ontario College Curling
Association game in which Craig Workman
was participating. On Sunday Frank and
Peter Workman attended.
PROGRESSIVE EUCHRE
Fourteen tables took part in the pro-
gressive euchre on March 16 sponsored by
the Hall Board. Winners were as follows:

MAKES DONATION
The Cranbrook Women's Institute
donated $1000 to the Hall Board with which
they purchased 14 new tables which were
in use on Friday night.
