dent of the U.C.W. gave the call to worship
'and led in the service. Helen Craig had the
Children's time story on the word "Grace"
and led in the candle ceremony for the
third Sunday in Lent. The children and
their teachers retired to their classes.
Olene Dennis read the scripture Lessons
and led in Psalm 95 from the service book.
Doreen Hackwell gave the meditations,
Gospel reading for Lent. Gloria Wilbee
sang a solo, "To God be the Glory" ac-
companying herself by the guitar. The of-
fering was received by Kathleen William-
son, Heidi McClure and Mary Humphries.
In the announcements, dates to
remember are: Senior Choir Practice for
Easter Thursday March 22 7 to 8 p.m.
Monday, March 26 - U.C.W. invited to
Spring offering at Northside United
Church, Seaforth, 8 p.m. speaker Rev.
Anne Marie Allen. Staffa United Church.
Sunday, April 1- April Fool's Pancake
Breakfast.

piled for the Presbytery and its own an-

Meeting three of the McKillop III Baking
Beauties 4-11 club was held on February 22
at 7 p.m. at the house of Ruth Schades.
The meeting was opened with the 4-H
pledge followed by all members answering
the roll call.
Becky, Sharon, Marcy and Lori went to
work on English Muffins in a loaf and
Pannetone. While these were rising and
baking members discussed the business of
Breakfast Boredom and Batter Breads.
Who kneads it?
When the breads were cooked members
sampled them as well as others brought by
members. They then cleaned up and the
meeting was adjourned.
Meeting 4 of the McKillop IFI Baking
Beauties was held at Ruth Schades on
March 1, It opened with the 4-H pledge
followed by the roll'call: Members,discuss-
ed the sizes and, shapes of sweet roll
dough After this they shaped previously
made dough into two estates Per member
While these, were;, cooking they Judged ttre-
firepared ;basic white bread andrecorded
the results; At the last meeting members
were asked to bring two breads each.
When the rolls came out of the oven they
sampled them MA also tried the breads
made by others. The meeting was adjourn -
ad following clean up.

This Wednesday is the beef noon lun-
cheon on served' by the Walton Women's
Institute. It starts at 11:30 a.m. at the
community hall.
In the evening':guests will be attending

layers nice and even. The treats tasted
much better than they looked.
Thursday Joyce Pepper was in as pianist
at choir practice. In the evening the
feature movie was "The Quiet Man" star-
ring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara.
Women of the Zurich Mennonite Church
,: visited and;:played ,games, _with residents
Friday afternoon: Everyone also enjoyed
the lovely snack of fruit bread and a varie-
ty of cheese they provided.
Saturday was the big day as Doug In-
sley, Joyce Pepper and Max Ducharme
entertained at the St. Patrick's party.
Hazel Deer won the prize for lady wearing
the most green and Murray Howe won for
the gentleman in most green. Everyone
thought the green kiwi juice Was delicious,
also the green sparkled shortbread and
mint Nanaimo bars. Everyone had a great
time.
Coming events are: March 22 at 6:30
pm. "Something Beautiful for God" about
Mother Theresa's work in .Calcutta, and
March 29 at 2 pm. a birthday party with
entertainment by Gladys Van Egmond.
